I asked for a tequila ginger ale and didn't like the taste of it. It tasted like water. I asked if there’s something the bartender can do to make it better because I do not like it and he gave me an attitude, telling me the ginger ale is a syrup made from scratch (He should have been specific) and gave me a bunch of lime to try to fix it. I guess the Hairy big belly bartender has attitude problems.

Our 1st choice for beer + pizza [despite lackluster server attitudes], but my Blue Moon has been lukewarm the last two visits. :(
Asked the waiter for a cold option and was met with an annoyed “meh” response and excuse for the warm beer vs interest in a customer issue/solution seeking…so we left for our 2nd choice. Might return to the Sparrow, might not.😕

We've always had super friendly and personable service, enjoyed every bite of our food, and try a great new cocktail each visit. Also, I just love the random artwork on the walls lol!

This was my first time here and I actually just stumbled upon it while walking around downtown Lafayette. I didn't get to try any of the cocktails because I was still in recovery mode from the night before but I definitely wanted to try something from their menu. I went with the smashburger and fries and I'm telling you this did not disappoint.
The burger was cooked to perfection and I went with all of the toppings except lettuce. I don't normally get fries but I definitely recommend the fries here as they were a pleasant surprise. This was by far the best smashburger that I've had in the Lafayette area thus far.
Finally, and most important, all of the staff members were super friendly and helpful and just made for an overall good experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be back when I'm in Lafayette. Sorry there's not more photos but I was too hungover to play photographer on this day 🫠

Fine if you can get service. Third time trying this place, and while the food and drinks are good enough, each time we have experienced long waits for service (we have always visited between 4 pm and 6ish, when there weren't many patrons. The bartender clocked us immediately, but it took 20 minutes for someone to take our order). This last time, we sat for so long with empty drinks and empty plates, we looked up other places and decided to take our business elsewhere! We gave Black Sparrow multiple tries, but we've discovered better spots within walking distance....
