Although the food that is good here for the price it is ridiculous I can go to my hometown and get a whole plate of catfish nuggets for the same price for double the amount I just don't like the price in here overall in Lafayette it is ridiculous
Love this place. Cody and Giselle are always on top of their game! Eli pretty legit also! One of my favorite places in town simply because of these ppl. Will always be my "hometown bar" ❤️

Found a finger nail clipping in the bottom of my beer (got one on draft). Only get drinks from bottles/cans here.
We attended a benefit event on 7/27/04. The drinks were flowing, food was great, the bands killed it, but what stood out was the staff. The staff was on their A game! Smiles the entire evening, making sure everyone was taken care of and when you ordered something it was there in a flash. Kudos to everyone at the Checkerboard for a fun night and successful event. Definitely coming back next time we’re in town.
