The only reason I’m giving this review 2 stars is because I have been here once before and thought it was ok.
Tonight we showed up a little after 5:00pm. We were seated right away and drink order taken. Ordered appetizers while still looking over the menu to decide on mains.
Kids eat free on Sundays, which we thought was great.
After waiting an hour, the manager came over and apologized that there was a system glitch and they lost our order. They were going to put our order in ahead of the others and it would be right out, and they were going to discount our orders. We saw three or four other tables get their food before our waitress came back out and said our food would be out soon. We asked them to verify that because it was getting close to 7:00 and we had a nearly one and a half hour drive home.
It was about 10 minutes later and our food finally came out.
They did forget my daughter’s meal and had to go back to the kitchen and make it real quick.
We ate as fast as we could and asked for our bill right away so we could leave as soon as we were done.
While looking at the bill, they discounted our meal by 24%, but did end up charging us for the kids’ meals.
So they had to go back and fix that as well.
We also heard the table next to us had an order that was wrong and someone was missing their meal.
This may have been a one off, but I have read similar reviews before posting this one.
I’d only eaten here twice in the last 10 years, but others in my party have eaten frequently and said that they won’t be back.

You will not find better Scotch Eggs anywhere. Crisp, cold beer. Great experience here, as always. Lunch or dinner, Lafayette Brewing is a must stop if you’re in town. Our waiter, Victor, was very nice and attentive.

We randomly walked in for dinner and were seated immediately. The server was a really close talker, like basically on top of my husband. He recommended a couple beers that were mediocre and forgot to put in our pretzel appetizer. My husband and I both ordered the bison burger and was disappointed when it came on bread instead of a bun. My fries were also room temp at best so it seems to have sat for a while before making it to the table. My bread was toasted and his wasn't. My husband asked another server why his bread wasn't toasted and she said because if they toast it and it sits under the lights it gets super hard, which I can say definitely happens because mine was hard despite the burgers best attempt to make it soggy.

I don’t like to write negative reviews. But I feel like I have to help other out-of-towners who are looking for a good local brew and food. This place was terrible. The beer was awful. Myself and my 3 friends each ordered a different beer and they were all skunky and bad. And we love craft beers. The food was sub-par. But worst of all was the service. It was a Tuesday night. So they were not busy, but it took forever to get a drink, to get our food, and to get silverware. Thank goodness the beer was so bad we didn’t need refills. I’m so sorry to write a negative review, but people should know there are better places to get local beer (and food) than this place.

I will start with the good news about recent visit last Saturday. The Bloody Mary's are excellent and a great value. We had the Pesto Melt and the Mamma Mia and they tasted very good. That is where the good news ends.
On our prior visit we had a female server who was attentive and knowledgeable. She got a very large tip.
This past visit not so much. Our server was very nice but he was not a good server for the following reasons.
- He was spending lots of time doing other things than attending to tables; like break down outdoor patio.
- He told us the sides and it was all potatoes; we asked if we could sub a salad. And he asked what dressings. For the cost, salad may rank among the worst I have been served at a comparable eatery. It was served on a six-inch plate with 8-10 pieces of romaine lettuce tips (whole), there was a teaspoon of diced onions and tomatoes, and a cucumber cut in half. Difficult to eat and totally overpriced. I always take pictures of food when dining out and wish I had taken one of that paltry side salad.
- We asked for those salads ahead of our sandwiches and waited and waited and had to flag down a different server to get our salads. It turned out it would have probably happened because we did not get our first sandwich until a 30 minute wait -- and the dining room as about 20% filled so why the wait.
- Then we waited and waited and waited for our pesto melt, the server finally came over and said "there was a mix-up in the kitchen" which means he did not place our order same time with other sandwich.
- And like many restaurants in town, the acoustics are terrible. It is like being back in my high school cafeteria. Not pleasant on the ears.
- So when we got our bill we saw that the salad was $4, not $3.50. There was the $.75 upcharge for blue cheese dressing. I told the server we should have been told these things when placing our order. To his credit, and based on the long wait for the pesto sandwich, he took half off the price of sandwich and took off the blue cheese dressing. He got a good tip but nowhere near the one the server the previous visit got.
Bottom line. There are many places to eat in Lafayette and will probably not return to LBK. Some advice; train your servers on how to take and place orders with the kitchen. If doing a side salad for $4 make it look like it is worth the price; it is not. And charging for dressings? Who does that in town? Salads come with salad dressing and should not be an upcharge, or at least inform the guest.
Vegetarian options: The Mamma Mia and Pesto melt are really good; the sausage on the Mamma Mia is plant-based and tastes like Italian sausage.

Stopped here for a birthday dinner for my daughter and was disappointed. Walking in was greated and got service right away. But she got busy as we were finished and we sat for about 15 minutes (with 2 younger kids) till
I asked for our bill. I get your busy but still got to acknowledge your tables and maybe wait to take out drinks and foods to other tables till you clear your current tables and you could clearly see we were done. After she saw me she printed receipts for two others but not ours- why?! Not sure. She didn’t even apologize -tell us to have a good rest of the day -if we needed anything else. I wanted to order a birthday treat for my daughter but guess not. Wish we would have went elsewhere.

Service was slow the food ranged from very good to ok. Burgers were underdone. Consistency issues. That said I will be back the menu is interesting and eclectic.
Literally THEE absolute best!!! I was there for an event for a work conference. The food, atmosphere, and drinks were bomb. I stupidly left my hoodie there at the end of the night, went back the next day, couldn't find it. I was flying out and HEARTBROKEN because it's my favorite hoodie. I left my contact info and they found it and sent it to me!!! Forever grateful and will always stop in to support them whenever I'm in town!!!
