I called to order birthday cookies for my daughter. The girl on the phone was so rude. I had never ordered from there and didn't know their process and she talked to me like I was an idiot/child.I ended up telling her I would call and order from someone else because of the way she was talking to me. Very disappointing from what I have heard is a seasoned business. No customer service = no patronage for me!!!!

I had a mishap on Friday with a cake I had purchased for my daughter’s 24th birthday and found myself in quite a bind because we were going to have a little party for her at the Purdue tailgate the next day. Yes, I could have just picked up a generic bakery store cake, but my daughter always celebrated her birthday with my mom who passed away a few months ago, and we wanted to commemorate her birthday as well, so I wanted to have an angel on the cake and have the cake decorated in bright yellow, which was my mom’s favorite color. I called a couple of places in Indianapolis, which is where I live, with no luck. It was then I decided to just Google bakeries in Lafayette and I came across Mammaw’s Sweet Shop. I called and shared my story with Natalie on Friday afternoon around 1 PM and though they typically require a 72-hour notice, after hearing my plight, she very graciously agreed to do the cake for me and my husband picked up a beautiful medium sheet cake at 10 AM Saturday morning, and it was everything I had hoped for and more. Aside from it being decorated just perfectly, the cake and icing were both amazing! We went through just about that entire cake and I can’t tell you all the comments we got on how flavorful and moist the cake was, and how perfect the icing was. I now know that when I am getting any cake for future Purdue tailgates, I have to look no further than Mammaw’s Sweet Shop! THANK YOU Natalie for everything you did for me, and by extension, my daughter. You have no idea how much I appreciated it. ❤️

The staff was super rude when I made the order and then when we picked up the cake they got the order wrong but it was too late to fix it. I have always had good luck in the past, but this experience was disappointing, we won’t be back.

This is a little late but I need to let you and everyone know what great job you did on my Granddaughter’s Graduation Cake. It was beautiful and she was so happy with it. Flavor and icing was so good. I had a couple of people call me about who had made. Gladly gave them your number.
First time a used this bakery and was very pleased. We got a cake for my 1 year old grandson and everyone one at party talked about how good it was. Definitely worth it.

Extremely small cake for the price. But the main reason for the 1 star is Aaron never left a box for the top cake for my daughter and her husband for their 1 year anniversary. After promising to get it to her and failing to do so, they had to throw it out. Would NOT recommend this place!

Rude people and the cupcakes are dry better off making your own plus I was 7 months pregnant and I was feeling lightheaded they wouldn't allow me to sit until I bought something!!! Horrible people! Never again! (Owner trying to say it didn't happen to get me to delete my PUBLIC review will not work!!! ) Just treat people better!! And don't have chairs outside if people can't sit in them!!

Ordered a strawberry cake for graduation, and it was by far the best cake I’ve had!! Not everyone is a strawberry cake person, but even some of my guests who it isn’t their favorite flavor said how good the cake was.

Mammaw's Sweet Shoppe did a beautiful job with the buttercream icing two tiered cake. The bottom was chocolate with a raspberry filling and the top was funfetti. They were unable to do gumpaste orchids, so I added fresh orchids myself. They were also unable to do the 3d fondant guitar like I asked for, so I did that myself. The smoothness of the butter cream, the plaques and writing were impeccable. However, the cake was dry and there was practically no filling in the cake whatsoever. I think i've had better box cake mix. The icing got good reviews though. The manager and bakers were very attentive to make sure that every detail was correct, and the cake came out exactly as ordered, and well within time for me needing it. If the cake tasted better, they were able to do the accessory items I had requested, and they were less expensive, I would give them five stars.
