Super friendly staff, especially the owner. The shop is cute. I am So glad they kept some of the old time feel while adding some of their own kitsch. I got a bag of salt water taffy which is really good and not overly sticky. My friend got a sugar free vanilla soda and she loved it. Definitely a place we will return.

Canceled a field trip for preschoolers, wow. Heard a rumor each preschooler had $20 to spend. Hope the large order was worth it.

I was very disappointed with how a school trip was handled after they accepted $20/student for a preschool and then canceled the day prior. They knew the time of year when they scheduled the field trip. Changing your mind after planning school trips is about the lowest thing I've seen. I can guarantee our family will never spend another dime in this store.EDIT: You want to tell me I didn't buy $20 in Santa bucks from your store for my grandson but here I have them because his class trip was canceled. Nothing was mentioned about family emergency. You told the school it was too stressful and you were just too busy to deal with them. Great customer care and service.

me and all of my friends LOVE McCord's. the custom flavors of soda and the assorted chocolates and the old candy shop aesthetic are all SOOO appealing :3 it is always so much fun to go in and interact with staff and have a little snack :

The owner finally contacted me with an apology and a PARTIAL refund of $6.03 of the $12.55 additional that I had to spend to ship it to the correct destination. RIDICULOUS customer "service"!

Ever since the new owners took over, this place has been better than ever! The staff are a delight, friendly, and always up for a laugh! The selection has grown by leaps and bounds, and the food is good! The drinks are fascinating blends, my husband and I have tried almost every flavor and I don't think I've had a bad one. Great for kids!

The staff greeted me at arrival and was extremely friendly and even still asked if I needed any assistance or had any questions even with a good amount of customers already present. Their selection was great and reasonably priced. I was given a few specialty selections recently added but went with my classic chocolate peanut butter shake and was very happy! All in all the friendly staff sold me on Mccord Candies and I will be going anytime I visit Lafayette as they are a staple!Kid-friendliness: Children came in and they were given every amount of respect by the staff who asked them questions and kept their attention throughout their visit.

I have fallen in love with McCord Candies again! My first time in McCords wasn’t super pleasant and I didn’t want to come back. But when Billie and Angie, the new owners who took over nearly 2 years back I gave it another chance! And boy am I glad I did! They brought the magic back into the beloved candy shop of many! So happy to have them in our downtown ♥️
