I live in the neighborhood and have never seen this place open, but lights were on when I was getting gas next door so I walked in. The inside looks kind of old and drab but nothing to be alarmed by. The lady at the counter gave the impression that she had other things to do so we felt kinda rushed. The main thing was that I got a slice of tiramisu with mold all over the top. I initially thought maybe it was a green decorative icing from afar, and I saw her inspect it when she took it out of the cooler but she said nothing. She nearly let me purchase it but finally offered to get me a new one when she saw me inspecting it pretty closely. She said that the cooler it was in wasn’t working and it had been sitting in there for an entire day. I was like *why would you leave food in there overnight if you knew the cooler wasn’t working?* but whatever. The new tiramisu I got was directly from the freezer and didn’t taste too bad. My partner got a donut, piece of cake, and sugar cookies, all of which were okay. Just very very sweet and not particularly neat decoration. Nothing seems very fresh either.

I really wanted to love this bakery due to it being locally and family owned for a long time. However, the cookies we ordered to take to Thanksgiving were both dry and hard on the outside yet wet and raw in the middle. The turnover was as dry and crumbly as the Sahara desert. 1 dozen cookies and 2 turnovers cost just under $15 which seems fair. I won’t rule out ever trying them again, but I have found better just from shopping the local farmers market. Customer service was friendly and the shop does give a clear family vibe, which was welcoming.

It is a very small shop and its family owned and operated. They have very short hours and if you don't get there early they are sure to be out of your favorite. You can preorder the night before and they will make them special and save them for you.
I read a review on here that said the crème filling is salty.., that is because all they're goods are made with real ingredients and made fresh every day.
Lastly their strawberry crème donuts are just phenomenal

My most favorite thing from there is their Peanut Butter Pie. It is soooo good. Never gotten anything from there I didn't love.

O'Rears saved our daughter's wedding cake! Her cake was make by a bakery in northern Indiana and, after picking it up on the wedding day, we noticed that it was not decorated to the specifications requested and was just plain white. The baker up north was unapologetic and unhelpful, so I called some local bakeries to see if they could help, including O'Rears. Not only did the cake decorator from O'Rears call me back saying she would absolutely help, she also said they would drive the cake back to the wedding location to save us time and stress....and then insisted that we not pay them anything for their work because they were just doing it to be helpful! The cake was beautiful and exactly as envisioned! So thankful for local businesses and good people in the world!!
