Look I didn't get anything, I can say that now. I just wanted a water, I would have tipped 5 bucks for a water. They ignored us and didn't ever have the kindness to just say they were closing. We walked out got a cup from a different place (I tipped for the plastic cup) went back to Porky's and got a DR Pepper from the drink machine

Food was not good at all. We got Italian beef’s and they bread was hard and not cut right (down the middle). If I can rate a zero I would. The sandwich hardly had any meat we had 5 slices max. And we got 4 sandwiches that went into the trash. Mashed potatoes tasted raw. Only decent thing was the Mac and cheese. Wasted of money highly disappointed. There was a younger girl doing orders she was nice but it seemed she wasn’t trained as well

Door dashed a Chicago style deep dish pizza. The sauce was super sweet and the cheese wasn’t even melted all the way. They somehow undercooked the crust but still managed to have a burnt after taste. It basically tasted like a microwaved lunchables pizza. Definitely was not deep dish.

Wanted to give this place another try. Last time we came the food took 45 mins, wasn’t hot and the hot dog wasn’t a beef hotdog as a true Chicago hot dog. It was a cheap hot dog and overpriced. They are closed even though their sign says they would be open.
I would have given 5 stars but i didnt try everything. I tried the brisket, amazing. Was tender and good flavor. The greens are very good and the Corn? OMG ive never had better corn. I unfortunately didnt try the mac and cheese or coleslaw, but the mashed potatoes, by far the best ive had anywhere around. Tasted like grandmas house at sunday dinner. The stew……amazing. The lemonade was perfect and the dole whip………OMG!!!!!!! Dont listed to the negative reviews, go be the judge yourself. Always remember every restaurant has their good and bad times and their food can be better from one time to another. You can tell the food is homemade. I will be back again. The owner and her daughter are sweet people.

Sunday was my first time in. The Sweetest ladies working, the manager was amazing and even let me sample bbq. The meat platter was plenty for me and my husband, with extras to take home. I had never had Blueberry tea before and it was the best tea I ever had. We are so glad we stopped in. I think we found our new spot!

Porkys has probably the worst food I’ve ever had. I don’t write reviews but I’m surprised but the amount of good reviews so I wanted to share my experience. The Mac and cheese was garlicky and tasted like it had been reheated multiple times in the microwave. The brisket was hard and just not good. The pulled pork had a very weird flavor to it and tasted very old. The chicken was the most okay part, I really liked the skin on the chicken. I didn’t even touch the country style rib after one bite because I thought it was not good. We definitely had higher expectations especially when our total was a little over $40 for two samplers and two drinks. They also have turkey legs on the menu but said they don’t have them unless I call the day before for them to make them. The sweet tea was fruity and VERY old tasting. Absolutely rancid sweet tea. The soda was good though.
We definitely won’t be returning and I suggest no one tries it. But the person at the counter was really nice so that’s why I didn’t give all one stars.

The service was very disrespectful. The food was cold and was not made right. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I happened to come across the outdoor location next to the Wendy's next to the mall yesterday....and when I say my fiance and I stopped because we had been told by her mother to try this one instead of the location at the mall because this one has deep fryers and the one inside the mall doesn't apparently. So the outdoor location has fried Cajun catfish etc. I ordered 2 Cajun catfish dinners and paid 9$ plus tax for some fried pickles, just over 35$ in total for those 3 things. And that's not even the issue because I'll pay for good quality food no problem especially being from Chicago I look forward to finding anything that's good and can taste even a little bit like what I can get back home in Chicago. But this food was crazy SALTY. The breading they used to fry the fish and the pickles was literally just excessive salt. Made the food inedible. I forced myself to try and eat as much as I could because I didn't wanna waste my money but I couldn't. I still have the food sitting in the fridge contemplating bringing it back. But I don't even know if they would care. Trust me when I say salty all you could taste was literally a ton of salt in every little piece. Highly disappointed and feel cheated.

Man, Porkys in Lafayette is where it’s at. No bullshit.
I’ve had their brisket and the Chicago dog, and both were killer. The brisket was tender as hell—just melts in your mouth, with that perfect smoky flavor that makes you wanna sit there and eat way more than you should. And the Chicago dog? Straight up nailed it. All the toppings, all the flavor. They don’t skimp on anything.
But honestly, what really makes this place stand out is the people. Jay was cool as hell—just one of those folks you feel like you’ve known forever. Super laid-back, made sure everything was spot-on, and you can tell they care about the place and the people walking in the door.
If you’re in Lafayette and you haven’t been to Porkys yet, fix that. Go hungry, and be ready to leave happy. You’ll be thinking about that brisket later—I promise you.
