Great.
Amazing bakery! We stopped by needing to pick up some loaves of bread when the ones we were baking weren't ready on time, and the staff helped us pick out some great ones! Incredible service, incredible bread. Highly recommend, especially when you're not short on time!
My Young Beautiful Bride and I visited the Lafayette Farmers Market this morning, and we bought an uncut loaf of Pumpernickel bread from Smittybread.
A few weeks ago, we were at the Farmers Market and bought our first uncut loaf. It was absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor š.
This time, we asked the vendor to slice the loaf for us, but they didn't have a bread slicer with them.
So, they referred us to their store on 4th Street, stating that they would slice the bread š for us.
Little did we know that they were not only a baker of bread but a baker of treats as well š¤
We just had to sample just about everything that they had, and we were extremely impressed.
This is quickly becoming a weekly must for us. All their breads (except the baguette, I think, but Iām not sure) are made with sourdough, and have such a rich flavor, and perfect texture toasted or cold. Our favorites are the roasted garlic and the rye bread. They donāt leave me feeling bloated like normal bread does. The loaves last for several days in the fridge, and are a generous size. And the dessertsā¦.oh my word the desserts. The morning bun is a MUST try, and the cookies are so good!
I got the cherry danish and the jalapeƱo popper croissant and they are fabulous š truly the best danish iāve had, buttery flaky goodness
Hands down some of the best bread in the state! Not to mention their pastries and pretzels :-D They use rye in their sourdough that gives it the distinct nutty flavor and deep flavor that stands out amongst the rest! You cannot go wrong with a single item but favorites are their baguettes and danishes.
Nice ppl cute place great bread!!
Yummy bread!
It's a little out of the way to get to but really good bread and pastries.
Had to update, they started making turnovers, just amazing. I think when I was a kid I had one that almost tasted as good as these.
Best croissants in town, great sandwiches, and great loaves of bread for you to take home. Best Artisan bakery in Lafayette!

This bakery has a good selection of breads and pastries, and the staff was helpful in deciding what to try. I ended up getting a baguette and two croissants (regular and chocolate) to go. It was all delicious, but the baguette gets my highest praise since itās so hard to find good ones these days. I wish my town had a specialty bakery as nice as this, and Iād recommend Smittybread to anyone.
