Southside Diner

My family and I stopped in recently whilst in town to celebrate our daughter’s 19th birthday. Da birthday girl and her boyfriend both ordered chicken n’ waffles. My youngest son had a buffalo chicken sandwich. My wife got the Monte Cristo. I wasn’t COUNTing on her to order the Monte Cristo!!!! If you didn’t get that Alexandre Dumas joke, I suggest you pick up a book for once in your life. I had the country breakfast, which consisted of eggs and bacon and breakfast potatoes and biscuits and gravy. Everyone else thought their meals were just average. I actually thought the biscuits and gravy were far below average, but I will resist the urge to be overly negative. In conclusion, there was nothing wrong with the food or service, but I doubt we will be in a hurry to make a return visit.

Was concerned given disparity of recent reviews of this would be hit or miss. Definitely a hit. Salad and sandwiches, all good and extremely fast. Service was great and attentive to our needs and feedback. We didn't have time for pies which looked wonderful but picked up cinnamon rolls and muffins for the next day. Surprised by small bill put the icing on the cake. Positive experience through and through.

Biscuits were hard and chewy and hashbrowns were not cooked very long no crisp at all to it

Would love to love this place, but both booths and tables are falling apart. We were sat in a booth that had layers upon layers of tape trying to hold the seat together. Didn’t work too well because I had vinyl cutting into my legs. My husbands omelet tasted like there was sour cream in it? Turns out it was something spoiled. He spent the next couple days with an upset stomach. And if it’s even remotely hot outside…. the restaurant is uncomfortably warm. The service is always top notch though!

Enjoy going here for breakfast often. Food and service is always good. Get the cinnamon roll! The chorizo burrito is good and the salsa is a must with it. Really hungry get the country fried steak breakfast. The fried biscuits with gravy are delicious!

It's a traditional diner. Good Eggs Benedict and biscuits and gravy. Sat at a table. The booths looked more comfortable.

Food was terrible. Fries were Underseasoned i....that is an understatement. The burger was sub par. Service was terrible. No manager in sight, ever. Do NOT recommend. It is sad how this place used to be very good, now every time is more disappointing than the last. We are done with them.

As someone who works in food service...I was floored!
Outstanding food, timely and very polite service.
Order had been taken and brought out in MAYBE 7 minutes..and that seems like a stretch!
Very clean, nice "mom & pop" style atmosphere.
Amazing value, generous portions.
I only put 5 stars because I couldn't put 50.

My husband‘s food was apparently ready before mine because I heard the server ask “where is my breakfast burrito” which was what I had ordered. It was an additional five minutes before she showed up with our food. When I finally got my burrito, it was all tortilla and very little egg and chorizo inside. I’ve ordered a burrito from this location before and it didn’t look or taste like this so I was very disappointed.

I was not offered sour cream or salsa. The server came back by to see how everything was and stated “you didn’t want ketchup or hot sauce did you?”

We never got refills until we were done eating and starting to get up to leave.

Our server was very sweet, which is why we gave her a good tip, but the food was not great.

Waited 25 minutes for an order of toast, my husband did not receive a refill the entire time we were there. We had to use the spoons that came with our coffee to eat with because we didn’t have silverware. Our waitress did not come back to our table… food was great but the service was awful.

My best friend and I have lunch there about 2 to 3 times a month. We love the food great atmosphere and good prices. Absolutely one of our favorite diners.
