The Rabbits top hat

my wife and me decided to try this place but when we went no one would even look at me it was really rude and no one talked to me just to my wife then later the refilled my wife's water but not mine any ways other than that it was just ok food.

Nice buffet selection and friendly staff.

The ambiance is nice, the staff is friendly, and it's very cheap even for a Chinese buffet. The food is very bad though. Most of the food is sitting in containers with excess water in the bottom, so the texture goes by the wayside. Some entrees were not warm enough, actually gone cold.

Great food and Friendly Staff! The food has always been hot, delicious and fresh. We usually eat at this restaurant at least once or twice a week.

Price was like $6.99 which was great! There were not a lot of items to choose from compared to Tekkanaki and there was no hibachi or sushi. However they had a few items I thought were pretty tasty. Nothing special that was incredible, but most everything I tried tasted as expected to; some of the meats were really tough and overcooked or had been sitting out too long. The service was very good and staff were friendly.

Decent all you can eat at a very reasonable price. Table and restaurant were clean. Good for a quick meal with a lot of food.

Really don't understand the great reviews? I went there a while back for lunch. It was a small selection and dirty. Ordered delivery and it arrived cold, wet, and extremely chewy. Never again.

Pretty good food all day long, their Chinese menu is even better if you can read and speak it.

I'm only giving this one star because I otherwise won't be able to speak. HARBOR CITY WAS CLOSED DOWN DUE TO HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS. This place is gross the food isn't even sub par and the after receiving a coupon for a dollar off my meal in local magazine it was refused due to the fact of what he sign said which was 4.95.That being said the lady at the front counter charged me the full price for a lunch menu after muttering whether it was ok or not to to take my complete change. I allowed it to happen and simply ate my meal. The food is repugnant. It probably didn't help that I was upset about how petty and sneaky the lady was attempting to be. That being said upon my second try I was denied service and quote "Americans can take business elsewhere." I didn't not yell or scream or even raise my voice. I simply walked out of the establishment allowing the food to represent there poor character. If you have no regards for yourself this place is for you. If you have half a mind and an actual taste buds you would go to any of the other Chinese restaurants. Might I suggest "En Lai kitchen A&B "

If I didn't get thing wrong this restaurant opened after the legendary dirty Harbor City was closed by the city court and the owner is highly likely the same one (for those who don't know there is a Chinese food delivery app called RICEPO and the Harbor City disappeared right before this new one popes up on the App.). Highly concerned for the food safety there and would recommend anyone who sees this avoid this place. (WARM buffet food which shows up in other reviews should give you enough warnings, if not too much.)

Being simple restaurants, all Chinese buffets should be judged by simple criteria: 1) Food Quality 2) Price 3) Cleanliness 4) Serving Spoon Length 1) Food Quality Tasty Buffet does a nice job on this one. Two of the 12 or so items I tried stood out: Egg Roll & salt and pepper shrimp. Egg roll (it was in with the spring rolls, but was an egg roll) was perfect but didnt have meat. Fine with me. Fried to perfection. The salt and pepper shrimp were seasoned, battered and deep fried. Fabulous. Sometimes "salt & pepper" at Chinese places can be too salty, here it was just right. We were there at about 1:30 and most dishes were readily available. There werent a huge number of people there, though. Buffets do need turnover to keep food fresh, so as with any buffet avoid the hours between lunch and dinner! They have some American-style chicken nuggets, fries, onion rings, etc for children and people with the palate of a child. I tried a crinkle fry and it was good. 2) Price This was right. Kids under 3 eat free. Mine was $9.59 after adding a diet coke. Can't argue with that 3) Cleanliness The staff of two kept everything looking good. The owner (?) was buzzing about the place making sure the little things were done. 4) Serving Spoon Length No one wants to grab a sticky spoon. No one wants to be burned by a spoon. A spoon that is either too short or too long can quickly lead to BOTH these problems. How? Too short: Spoon falls into its bin and gets pulled right back out / Spoon gripping region rests on hot bin, thus heating up too much. Too long: Spoon hangs over adjoining bin and gets food slopped on it / Spoon hovers over adjoining hot food or the dreaded 'gap' and the gripping region of spoon becomes a veritable inferno. Really, the spoon length tells you everything you need to know about a Chinese buffet. Upon the restaurant's initial opening, it tells you if they thought things through. Later in a restaurant's life it tells you if they are problem-solvers. The proper spoon should neither impede adjoining bins, nor threaten your virgin hands with orange chicken goo. On spoon length, Tasty Buffet has hit a home run. Perfection. Probably the best Chinese buffet in the Lafayette area.

Food absolutely spot on! If you only like Americanized oriental food, don't bother, you won't find it here. Everything that should be crisp is, the sauces on the various dishes are what they're supposed to be, not plain old brown gravy (beef and broccoli for example) or mostly set jello (sweet and sour for example). Crab Rangoon and General Tso's Chicken are my personal faves here. They just opened up, and the prices are very reasonable. When asked they said they plan to start delivery service sometime in February. This is my new favorite oriental restaurant!

Meh. There is a large selection of different dishes to choose from, that's for sure. Some were way better than others. Their sautéed dishes were better overall than the fried stuff. It was weird paying before you eat, certainly. Many of the dishes were mislabeled which could be a problem for allergies or restrictions. The staff was friendly though, so they have that going for them. If you go in without high expectations you'll be okay with eating here. I'm not going back anytime soon.

I'm not sure where l the great reviews come from most of the food looked as it had been there all day. And they make you pay before you eat which I found strange because I'm not going to tip on my card before I eat or get service....I'm guessing if the food was hot and fresh it would have been pretty decent. While I was there actually witnessed a man come in then get up and demand his money back because the food was old. So I wasn't the only one during this visit to notice the age of the food.

Family runned restaurant who strives to bring chinese authenticity to the ubiquitous chinese buffet establishments in the US. Above average selection and quality for a small buffet. Considering its location, its a pretty good asian buffet restaurant with good service and a homey feel.
