It is like drinking ale in a history museum. Loads of great ales, lagers, and beer. Affordable cocktails and some tasty food too. The service was exceptional and the amazing pictures, historic artifacts, classic Midwestern beer commercials, helpful historical markers, and pre prohibition recipes make this a very unique find. I had a flight of their beers and was very happy with them. The Apella apfelwein was especially good to me, and the history associated with the place was fascinating. The walls are covered with information about the original namesake. The staff was very friendly, and so were the other customers in at the time. It was a good place for me to end my night.
The beer here is really good with an interesting variety. It's a cool little place packed with local history. Servers are friendly and helpful. There are several better places for food available within a short walk, so maybe just get a couple of beers and then move along down the street for dinner.
