Johnson's Fish & Shrimp

Lived in the state of Maine on the coast where seafood is plentiful and no seafood chain restaurants can compete like Red Lobster with the family owned establishments. Johnsons Fish & Shrimp is second to none and would do great in Maine. I am so glad I found this privately owned establishment. The seafood is fresh large pieces the breading they use is light and flaky and doesn’t burry the taste of the meat. I’ve tried there Cod/fish & Chips, best in region, shrimp, calamari, clam strips and seasonal smelt. All items were excellent. The staff is friendly and professional. The facility is very clean. I Recommend this establishment for all seafood lovers and those who are on the fence about seafood, you won’t be disappointed.

First time here. Ordered 1/2 lb. perch, clam strips and shrimp. Very fresh and good tasting. Perch breading has a welcome slight 'kick' to it, but does not overwhelm the perch flavor. Probably the best perch around, and at a reasonable price. The shrimp and clam strips were also very good. Will be back. Five Stars.

We visited Johnson's Fish yesterday for the first time. We were greeted with a friendly hello from Logan. Billie assisted us with our order. Very attentive. We ordered a 1lb. of the double crunch shrimp, onion rings and coleslaw. My daughter got the chicken tenders and fries. When the order was ready, Billie went thru it with is to make sure we had everything. It was really good! The shrimp were amazing! We definitely will be back soon.

Went there today for the first time. Sign on door says open daily 11 am until 8 pm. Door was locked. Open sign was not turned on. I've been wanting to try this local establishment. Lake Station can and should be a hidden regional gem. There are more than enough Mexican establishments. They need a variety of cuisine and Johnsons could fill that void. You can't advertise certain hours and decide not to open without telling the public why you decided NOT to open. This place can and should be a regional culinary icon as it was in the past.
