If you are into Hoosier Dive Bars, you gotta stop by this joint. Totally authentic from the outdated beer signs to the authentic locals getting their beer on. I experienced a real "smash burger", hand formed and sizzled on the open flat-top grill just behind the bar. Nice bun, generous tomato and lettuce....delicious! After waiting for an hour and a half for my food at Miller's Tavern in North Vernon I went to Shipleys and had my food in just over 15 minutes and the wait staff kept my drink full.
This a triple D minus Guy and that's a good thing. Just a damn tasty burger with a small town feel (make sure you ask for Shipley sauce). Holly is an absolute trooper killing it on the grill, fryer and the bar - real triple threat.
