The Red Pepper Deli, Cafe & Catering

Easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. Definitely worth a stop when in Madison!

I’ll start off with the good. I got a piece of the lemon white chocolate cheesecake on a whim and it was absolutely delicious. First bite it was a little tart, but after that I was sold. Next comes my sandwich of the southwest turkey I did not like the hoagie bun. It was hard and dense. There wasn’t enough of the southwest cream cheese on it for me really I could’ve done a thick slab of the southwest cream cheese on the bottom and I would like the same amount on top bun as well. The potato salad is a dill, potato salad and for me it didn’t have much flavor, but it was homemade and I did appreciate that I thought the value for what you paid was good the sandwiches are a nice size. The sides are really nice size compared to what you get at a lot of other deli shops and the cheesecake was a good size piece as well. Overall, it was a good lunch

Looking for an easy dinner before a moonlight hike we ventured over to The Red Pepper Deli, Cafe & Catering. They are part of Madison’s “Red” family of businesses, offering hot and cold sandwiches, soups, salads, and wraps.

We love The Red Pepperoni pizza parlor across the street, so we had high hopes for the deli. Thankfully we weren’t disappointed.

The woman behind the counter was quite friendly and upbeat, giving us recommendations and guiding us through their menu and options. After a few minutes we locked in our order.

🥪🫘 Half a Steak Grinder with Chili

Meals came with a bag of chips and a pickle spear.

Both sandwiches and soups were solid, hitting the middle ground of “not too much, not too little”. It’s hard to beat hot bread, melty cheese, and fresh ingredients. The soups were still giving off steam as we finished.

I’m glad we stopped and I look forward to getting lunch here when we bring the kids next time.

Dean and I love the Red Pepper Deli. We eat there at least once a week, if not more. The staff is very friendly and the food is absolutely amazing. If you haven’t tried the chili, you are missing out, and the Italian sandwich is so yummy.😋

We were in town for a girl's trip and stopped by for lunch before heading back to our home states. The sandwich options were many and all sounded delicious the two we chose, a CBR & a Santa Fe, definitely were! Folks were kind and helpful for us first timers!

In there regular for soup for wife. I get a sandwich. All good and good price. Desserts are pretty darn good

Highly recommend! Hands down, this is the best place to get lunch in Madison. We go here every time we are in town. Great variety - you can find something to please everyone in your party. My only wish is that they'd offer their Hungarian mushroom soup more often - it's so good!!!

Stopped in to get food to go. Service was good. Prices seemed reasonable. I was impressed with the variety of sandwiches and wraps. You sure to be get something to your liking. I had the special and was delicious. I will want to go back again and try something else there.

Late Saturday supper. Was busy but no wait to be seated. Ordered a personal pizza for a child, and then ordered a build your own pizza...went with the alfredo sauce, added green peppers, spinach, mushrooms, onions, and roasted tomato. Tasted great. For the kids pizza, tried the pepperoni, however it was different than she is used to and said it was spicey...just for other parents to be aware if their children don't like spicey food.
