We decided to come to this location after I visited here almost five years ago. My daughter was leery about IHOP but I persuaded her to come here as I thought the service and atmosphere was the same as before.Arrived around 3pm to be sat at an unclean table area and was literally forgotten about. The dining area was dirty, the tables are worn and furniture especially the booth seating is dirty and stained. We waited with no one coming over to ask me or my children if we wanted anything to drink, along with no activity mats or crayons for the children.The bathrooms are gross with even my daughter saying how gross the woman’s bathroom was.It’s ironic that employees kept looking in our direction, but never came over to service us, almost like they were hoping we would leave, at which time we did.Obviously no one cares about providing great customer service and taking care of the customers at this location. Never again IHOP.

Debbie (the kind, charismatic door hostess) is THE reason I am giving five stars to this location and restaurant. I went in ahead of time to ask Debbie if there were wheelchair accessible tables available. Debbie showed me the seating area, asked which table my family and I preferred, and made certain that our table was wiped off. Debbie even came out from behind her podeum to open the door for my wheelchair-bound mom, elderly dad, and me. Debbie is a rockstar, and her warm, loving, stellar service stole the show today at IHOP in Merrillville, IN.Wheelchair accessibility: The handicapped parking, the entrance, and the seating area is very accommodating to wheelchair-bound diners. But DEBBIE (the phenomenal door hostess) went the extra mile to make wheelchair accessibility a breeze.

Long wait time due to short staff.. service was good..quality employees just not enough employees so long wait time
IHOP was clean, Chloe was a wonderful server, the chicken strips, salads, country fried steak, mashed potatoes, pancakes, scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and hash browns were all good but the price paid here was a bit high compared to other restaurants for the amount of food we got. I got 5 chicken strips & a salad for $13! Good food & service, but high prices for what's included, which ain't much.

We were greeted as we arrived and taken to a booth as requested. The restaurant was extremely clean. The server was very pleasant. Food was nicely presented and hot. My husband really enjoyed the multigrain bread. We were extremely pleased with service and food. Whoever is managing this place is really doing a good job. The only problem we had was picking our breakfast. Almost all the breakfast picks are huge! Will be returning.
