Awesome food! Great menu! Very tasty!

Yesterday, we made the tragic mistake of spending over $250 at Runnings Jamaican Restaurant in Michigan City. You’d think that kind of tab would come with at least a “thank you” and a side of urgency — but nope. We waited over an hour for our food, while folks who walked in after us were skipping out with their meals like they had VIP jerk passes. We asked politely (multiple times) when our food was coming. Finally got it — minus the jerk tips we paid for. The poor waiter went back and forth to the kitchen like he was on a relay team, trying to convince the back staff we weren’t running a scam. They actually made him come back to get our receipt like it was a court case. We had receipts — literally. Eventually, they toss the missing food together like an afterthought. By the time we got home and finally dug in, the jerk tips tasted… jerky, and not in a good way. They were spoiled, rubbery, and just plain terrible. Everything else was meh at best. And the cherry on top? No manager came to speak. No one said sorry — except the waiter, who honestly deserves hazard pay for dealing with that kitchen crew. Overall: No stars. No ratings. No recommendations. Just NO. Save your coins and your time — go somewhere that appreciates your appetite and your money.

Ordered for a party a large Mac n Cheese and a small rice and beans. Total price was $124. The Mac n cheese tasted very salty. Rice and Beans were ok. Not to mention Mac n cheese made myself and my son sick. We won’t be ordering from them again.

This is my 3rd visit and it didn't disappoint. I brought couple of my friends with me for their first time. Our waitress was very helpful since they had 20,000 questions for her. Food was fresh as always with good portions. Love stopping at Cool Runnnings every time I'm in Michigan City. Love the atmosphere & mural of Bob Marley.

I guess 20% tip is not good enough, they added another $10 to the total bill when i looked at my account, been a frequent customer but will never, I mean never be back.

The reggae pasta and also jerk chicken was so amazing. Got a patty to start it was really good. Highly recommend this place you won’t be disappointed.

Driving to Blue Chip…I saw the unmistakable Jamaican flag. I quickly did a Uee and went across the railroad track and found this unassuming small restaurant. Went in…a young lady was celebrating her birthday, after quick salutations, gave the waitress my order of two lunch specials of Jerk chicken & catfish. To my culinary delight…the chicken was delicious! I questioned my partner on the catfish….through his stuffed mouth he gave a two thumbs up. Ample portions. Delicious. Friendly atmosphere. What more could you ask for? My mom is from Panama and my grandfather is from Jamaica. The rice and beans made me think of mom’s home cooking. The plantains?? They had me asking the gentlemen coming out the kitchen “you cook this??”….he said yes…I was like….damn good! As a pleasant surprise, as I was driving away….I saw a young lady going in….she told me she was a manager and that she was from Panama! I KNEW it. LOL
