I'm a faithful customer we come often the day we happened to come when the owner wasn't there I had hair on our table and in my drink staff acted like it was no big deal very disappointed and disgusted they don't act like that when the owner is there

Large open dining room, great for larger groups. Cozy booths for smaller groups. Soups are good. Watch out when ordering because the bowl of soup that comes with a meal is a true bowl of soup. Careful not to get too full before the meal arrives. Staff is very attentive without being intrusive making for excellent service. Have eaten a fish dinner (can’t remember if it was whitefish or perch), tuna melt, patty melt, chili and a couple of soups. The fries need more seasoning. They come to the table nice and crispy but are quite plain. The dining room can be a bit chilly if it isn’t busy, but that’s hardly worth mentioning. I will be eating here frequently when I visit Michigan City.

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Make sure to keep them seated and nearby because it’s a bustling dining room

Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible all the way through including restrooms

I felt bad for the waitress and cooks I don’t know if the guy is always this way but he was very rude today and telling the waitresses were to seat them even took the menu away from a waitress that was seating me and was yelling at the cooks today also he gets distracted instead of finishing up my transaction slowly he was trying to rush it so he could seat people and not let the waitress learn also Lady who brought water and coffee out should not be bringing it out so fast you don’t even sit down yet The only reason service is a one star is because my waitress Katie was awesome with guy being rude today I was afraid to compliment her headband the reason for the one star on service guy not happy to be there but everyone else was I wish had I more tip money for Katie because she was great and food was great I think this place would be closer to 5 stars if guy was more relaxed was not even that busy today and he likes regulars more than first timers like me or people who come not as often

Ok. Could be much cleaner. There was a lot of food in the cracks between the booths from other diners. Grossed me out. Soup and sandwich I got were awesome. Wait staff got my order right but never came back. Had to ask for check at the register.

The owner yelled at our server for explaining the menu and “talking” to long. He was not professional and said he would fire her because we complained about his hospitality to his workers!

UPDATE: the fired the waitress for petty reasons and because he was wrong. All employees cannot stand the way they are treated and don’t deserve what they get handed. First rule to customer service is pleasing the customer and making small talk/conversation. He didn’t like that and fired out waitress for speaking to us then just grabbing our order and running. What a shame.

We took our Mom out for a birthday breakfast and were pleasantly surprised!
Our server Selina was amazing, she is really attentive and was so kind to us especially to the birthday girl!
The staff even sang happy birthday and offered her a complimentary slice of cake!
We are locals and are glad we decided to dine here and will be back!
