We only tried their bakery and it is nothing short of amazing...literally everything we tasted out of this bakery was not only delicious & fresh but it's as if effort was a flavor in every bite. I don't know how else to describe how unbelievably good it is. It's so good that even a flavor you dislike would taste good. If I'm ever back in Indiana, this will be one of the reasons why.

Just not as good as it used to be. Roast beef was burned and salty. Beef and noodles were pasty. The chicken, mashed potatoes and chicken noodles were good. But it seems like everything (including the salad) is made to fill you up fast. Difficult to feel like you got your money's worth on a buffet. I miss the days of the family style dinner when they brought bowls of food to your table.

I was going to eat in the menu area but the server told me it's a better deal to eat in the buffet area.
It was a good choice. The cost was $20.00 with extra charge for drinks.
I started with Corn chowder and salad bar, next I went to main course area. I had broasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, turkey and a piece of chocolate cake. Everything was delicious!!.
The service was excellent, the decor was early Amish and it suited the restaurant. If I would have ordered from the menu, a sabdwhich alone is $15.00. I highly reccomend the Essenhaus and the attached bakery. You will find homemade cakes, pies snd cookies and all are delicious

It's a treat to come and spend the day shopping in Shipshewana, then end the day at Essenhaus Bakery.
