West on Warren Gallery + Grill

My husband and I took our mothers out for their birthdays. We have never been to West on Warren, but thought we would give it a shot. Loved the outside seating with the waterfall. We were greeted with a friendly smile. Our server was kind and attentive. The food was just OK. I had the salmon soup, which needed salt and my mother-in-law had the steak and fries. The steak was overcooked. The blackened fish tacos with the mango chutney were phenomenal along with the burgers. I was not impressed with the dessert selection and they do not do anything for birthdays, which was a little disappointing. Overall good experience, but I'm not sure that I will be back. 

Great place to grab a bite to eat. I like how there's a few spots around the restaurant that are more secluded so it's not just one big area. Great food and people!

We've been to West on Warren several times. Each time the whole experience has been wonderful! The staff, food, and experience is awesome!

Love outdoor seating area - was surprised how noisy it still was, but enjoyed the night anyway. I know eating outside has its "challenges" but they might want to spray the perimiter of the eating area - we had several tiny ants climbing on our table top. Pecan apple salad with chicken was awesome! Bruschetta was very good - but could have been better if on toast instead of bread.

The kitchen was a bit slower than what I have experienced in the past, but the back room was very full when I got there. This happened to be a time that I had to be on the road at a specific time, so I felt a bit rushed, once we got our food. Still, one of my favorite places. I'll be back.

Overall our experience was excellent. We all had the smoked duck and it was delicious. Kudos to the wait staff . Our waiter did an excellent job and all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Always enjoy our visits to West on Warren.

Second time we ate there. Couldn't say enough good things about West on Warren . So so enjoyed our dinner. Staff remarkable. Food outstanding.

Food was good but it ended there. They have trivia night on Thursday and we were not asked when we came in if we were playing. We were seated in a garage area which was loud to begin with. We were with friends we haven’t seen in years and once trivia started we could barely hear each other. Soup was not served before meal and brought after dinner was served. All in all the evening was terrible. Other seating was available inside if they had asked us or informed us of the trivia game.

Great place for dinner in Middlebury. A restaurant that can easily be in a big city an datikl hold its own.
Carefully crafted menu with a good selection of sides and dessert.

Ordered steak with truffle fries and cheesecake for dessert all delicious and worth the calories.

Service was great! Food was absolutely delicious and the price is reasonable. Will eat here again.

We made reservations for dinner because Molly Abrahams was performing. They were very busy, but the wait staff and hostess did a great job. Everyone was very friendly and had a smile on their face. The food was good. Im glad they have added more options to their menu. But my favorite is the apple pecan salad.

We were taking our son and his family out for his birthday last Saturday night and thought sitting in the outside area would be very pleasant - it was anything but pleasant. They had a singer piano player that was so loud we could not even hear each other across the table but beyond that the singer was horrible to the point we were cringing. We have been to West on Warren many times but have never experienced anything like this before.

Our server, Mary was very knowledgeable offered suggestions and was very pleasant. Our table had fish tacos, the duck and the ribeye steak. The sausage soup with mushrooms was very tasty and their salads are very large. You can almost split one.  The cocktails are crafted and are unusual but oh so good.

We have really enjoyed all the food we have tried at West On Warren - from duck to ribeye, from pasta to poke bowl - all yummy. We LOVE sitting at the bar and watching the bartender work. It's show in itself. Plus he's fun to chat up or to chat up your seat neighbors. By far our best food experience when visiting Shipshewana for a show. It's well worth the 7 mile drive west to eat there!

We had a party of 7 and everyone's meal was enjoyed except mine. I did not care for the tuna poke bowl. It was very fishy and too much lettuce. I hope they improve on it because that's one of my favorite dishes when I go out. Our waiter was very attentive and the food came out quickly. So everything else was really nice and I definitely recommend this place, especially since there aren't too many nice restaurants in the area.
