Papa Vino's Italian Kitchen

It's a big restaurant. A lot of patrons. The place is dated. The carpets need to go. The table of a big family left and the staff was prompt to clean but the floor had straw papers on the floor and food. The place could use a paint job. Tons of tables and booths. If the restaurant is that big you wonder how much time is put into the food prep. They give you a “bag” of Italian bread. Very good. But the plate of burnt garlic and spices? are gross. All I tasted was oil. Some butter would have been the perfect alternative. I got the mushrooms stuffed with crab. I had to take the mushrooms out because of the oil and butter? When you pushed your fork into the stuffing tins of oil and grease came out. The mushrooms were firm but I swear I had something crunchy bit into. I couldn't finish. They had tomato bisque. That was decent. Hot. Love a hot soup. The mushrooms weren't. My husband had the meatballs. They were decent. The sauce was ok not sweet which is a good thing. My baked ravioli was inedible. I sent it back. The ravioli was mush. Definitely frozen . Then it had a little bit of marinara sauce, I think Alfred sauce and pesto drizzled over. I didn't realize the three sauces were utilized. Even still, if people are eating that and thinking that's how ravioli are supposed to be you haven't had good Italian food. My husband had chicken parm. That was nice. Three big cutlets breaded and cheese over spaghetti. Again that was good and a nice portion. I don't think Papa Vinos is on our radar for the next time. I think this restaurant is too big for what they serve and maybe go somewhere smaller.

Seated quickly upon arrival. Wait staff was very attentive but not overdone. Food was very good and reasonably priced.

Always a great dining experience here...food is always perfect & comes out very fast. Love the bread with the oil to dip it in. Great value for the price, portions are huge! Restaurant has a fabulous ambiance..very classy.

If you're going to dine at papa vinos make sure you request Megan as your server. I love her professionalism, her attention to detail and personality.

We were in town for a wedding. Papa Vino's was recommended. It did not disappoint. Husband had the Lemon Salmon. He said it was cooked perfectly and delicious. I had Baci & Prosciutto, also delicious, with a very light cream sauce. TRY to save room for dessert. Just know, they are extremely generous with their sizing. We had Spumoni and the lemon cake. Absolutely delicious. Next time we visit South Bend, we will definitely dine here again. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Unique Italian dishes - highly recommend the roasted vegetable ravioli! Great value. Appropriate proportions for the meals. Merry was an excellent server - very attentive with great suggestions. We had a wonderful Father's Day meal!

Pasta primavera was not good - sauce was very thin and watery. The chicken dish was also similar , disappointed overall

Wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary. Mallory was a fantastic server who kept our glasses full. Food was excellent! And prices were very good for all that we got. Highly recommend this place!

We have been coming to this place for about 18 years. And this is the worst service we have ever had. Thank you for ruining my Mother's Day. The entire staff couldn't wait to close for the night. We watched them pace and overheard several of their comments. Very unprofessional.

Portion sizes do not reflect the prices, food was bland, and the place smelled like sewage not sure what was going on there.

Always like dining here when in the area for business. One of several options nearby and always eat here at least one night while here.

I can always trust Papa Vinos for a tasty affordable Italian meal and professional service. This visit was no different and Erin did an amazing job.

My husband did not like the steak in the sizzling skillet. But we thought everything else was good.

We found this spot last year on a visit to the area, so we just had to return. Still excellent.
