Just not the place for young queer people anymore...
I'm disappointed because I used to love it back at the old building but now it just feels like it caters to an older crowd of mostly straight people.

Went this past Friday. It was a little dark from the outside but we could see dance lights through the curtains. Went in was greeted by the security guard Matt. He was immensely kind and patient as I looked for ID. Came in and sat at a table instantly fell in love with the vibe and the other people there!! Dawn was our bar tender and the drinks were great! Dawn and I didn’t talk much but she had a glow in her eyes and I felt like she genuinely cared about me. Instantly felt welcome! Prices were on par with other bars I’ve been too! R bar had that high end feel mixed with family love.

I had a good conversation with Matt the security guard after he had to ask a patron who was loudly banging on the bar to quiet down. I was really impressed with Matt’s attitude and is desire to see everyone have a good time while also making sure everyone was safe and happy.

I went back to the table and danced with my friends and we left after a couple drinks and some karaoke songs. Will be back this Friday!! Thanks R Bar 🥰

Went to R Bar last night with my hubby for my birthday. Instant good vibes. It has that perfect “local bar but with a little ✨upgrade✨” energy. Great lighting, friendly people, and staff who treats you like you’ve been coming there for years.

We ended up meeting lots of cool people including an interesting couple who just came from a live show, and a woman who’s been on an absolutely inspiring health journey… the kind of conversations you don’t plan for but walk away grateful for. The owner/bartender was super welcoming and kept offering us a variety of drinks to try, all of which were **chef’s kiss**. We didn’t eat but the food options looked delicious. Prices were fair, and the whole place just has this easy, comfortable flow.

Had a great time, met some genuinely cool people, and even exchanged hugs as we headed out — the good kind, the “wow, tonight was really something” kind.

Left thinking “yeah… we’re totally coming back here again.” ☺️

Let me just say I've never had more fun at a bar than I had here. My besties Bach party was here and let me tell you the atmosphere did not disappoint. Amy became my friend by the end of the night. She is the best bar tender ever. She made everyone feel comfortable and is so funny. Honestly a 10/10. Her pricing is more than fair in my opinion!

Incredible location. Fries were unlike anything I've ever had, with the seasoning being a secret. If nothing else, order a Temptation.

This used to be a place for the lgbtq community to go to for a sense of community and feel safe. Now all the advertising I’m seeing is strictly catering towards heterosexual norms. “The magic hunk” advertising for “the #1 ladies night”. Pretty sure not every lady that goes to your bar wants to see that. Or how about the “Salsa dancing” ad with only a man and woman. Or the “Bachata” ad with, again, only a man and woman featured dancing. Where’s the inclusivity for gay couples? It is honestly so disappointing and disgusting as I used to love going here. Now you’re just like very other bar. I will tell my lgbtq family to stay away.

We really have tried to enjoy this place. Our last experience they played strictly songs that we would dance to at highschool homecoming - not a single song by recent artists, let alone queer artists.

We also sat at a booth and were told we needed to move because they were about to clean it, they did not clean it. We were a small group with maybe three others there for the night an hour before close.

Food is subpar and drinks feel a touch over priced. Hoping this place finds a better groove, there is so much potential.

Edit: While our group did have fun, there was still disappointment in song choices, and now understand the jukebox. There was no indication of “VIP” nor were we told, and clarification on that might help future guests!
