Cozy little Japanese place with a smaller Korean menu. The food is ok. The katsu and white rice have been dry every time I’ve had it, and they’ve been out of goma-ae every time I’ve ordered it (I don’t know why it’s still on the menu). Very friendly staff - slight language barrier. The prices are high for what you get. Cozy atmosphere, especially around the sushi bar. I probably won’t order again, considering how often I’ve been let down, but it may be worth a try...
The Toyo Udon was a delicious, affordable bowl priced at $14. Savory broth and great tasting tempura.

Every time I come to Toyo Grill, I am greeted by the friendly staff and pleasant classical music playing. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, almost magical. I always leave with a happy belly and less tension in my shoulders. I always recommend this restaurant to both friends and strangers as it is one of my favorite restaurants in South Bend.
