Food was excellent. The iced tea and hostess is why I didn't give a 5 star. More ice than tea and I couldn't taste the tea. for $2.99 I expected a better tasting tea and not as much ice. When the hostess went to seat me, since I was a party of one, she wanted to put me in a dark corner. When I refused, she said, " Sit anyplace you want." So, I found my own spot. I thought her attitude was a bit rude. I think she made a big deal out of it to another hostess, as they were looking my way and talking. A single person should be as important as a couple or a group. Rosetta was my waitress, and she was very nice. Even though it was primary ice she kept my tea glass filled. I might return, but my budget doesn't allow eating out that often.

Best Carmel cinnamon roll I’ve ever had. Not too much cinnamon & the icing was not overly sweet. The dough was so light. My husband was in heaven eating them

The food was really good, and there was plenty of it, including yummy Amish peanut butter spread, which is awesome on top of the soft serve ice cream. The prices are a bit on the high side, but that's due to inflation, which is an issue across the board, so it's not really their fault. Service was good, and the food was fresh and restocked regularly. Go early enough to browse the 3 village shops (one closes at 5 PM on Saturday and the other 2 close at 6 PM). So if you want to shop you will probably need to do that before you eat dinner because the restaurant stays open later. ENJOY!

This was a family outing for a group of 6 (3 preteens) we were seated quickly for a Saturday at noon, the server was a sweetheart who made sure to answer our questions and served our beverages quickly the sweet tea was perfection the lemonade tasted as if it was freshly squeezed the kids loved it - salad bar had a wide selection including two choices of soup broccoli & chili - the hot buffet offers bbq, chicken, fish, mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese ,corn, noodles among the favorites at our table - the fried chicken was favorable the bbq was tangy and sweet - the food options plentiful and hot - only 2 of us sample the dessert bar having the vanilla soft serve with cobbler among the many offerings that were available. After eating we browsed the shops located a few feet away - there is a bakery adjacent to the dining hall that offered homemade pies, breads and multiple sweets. For a family of 6 we topped 80$ with a 20$ tip but it was worth the hour long drive on a Saturday

One star is a gift. The fried "Peach" pie was filled with a gooey gelatin-like filling, but there was not even one single bit of fruit/peach in the entire pie. I opened it up because there was so much dough, that I was only going to eat the top layer of dough. So disappointed that these bakers failed to add any fruit to their filling. Total waste of $9.99.

I stayed at the nearby Inn. Beautiful area. I was to speak at the High Schools. This restaurant has a nice country store with Amish made things. Like quilts etc…. Excellent stuff. The food was delicious and the bakery is all home made. I ate here for my dinners and was very satisfied. The staff were kind and efficient.

Have been going here for several years, and in the last year or so, the quality of the food has really gone downhill. Just visited this week and was very disappointed, as it was even worse than our previous visit a couple of months ago. Not sure what the problem is, probably new management running the place into the ground to squeeze every last penny out of unsuspecting visitors who expect an authentic Amish meal, if I had to guess. Authentic doesn't include mashed potatoes that taste like they were straight from a cardboard box, pot roast that is bested by the Hormel stuff that you can buy at any grocery store and dried out fried chicken that is a distant runner-up to any local Popeye's restaurant. I don't eat salads much, but my wife tells me that while the hot food is barely mediocre now, the salad bar is still pretty good, so I guess that's enough for a 2 star rating instead of 1 star. There used to be all manner of delicious pies (something the Amish are famous for) included with your $16 buffet, but the included dessert spread has been reduced to a couple of cobblers, some assorted cookies and a soft serve ice cream machine. Interesting that I notice fewer and fewer actual Amish people working with every visit, and more non-Amish teenagers. I've had real Amish food, and this ain't it anymore. Sad, really, because I've always enjoyed visiting Gasthof. After our last visit, I probably won't make the special trip anymore.

Bought the blackberry rolls from Horrocks in Lansing MI. Zero blackberries. Not even one layer of jam

I have been to it several times. Its ok, but far from excellent. Seems like at times the food has been out to long and is not hot enough.

I live in MI and drove over an hour to a farmers market in Lansing. While there I bought some of your cinnamon rolls that were to die for. I have eaten a lot of cinnamon rolls before but these are the very best. Had I known how good they were I would have bought more!

Really unhappy after driving 50 miles to go here. The food was just so so and there were two soups listed on their menu on the website that that they didn't have (cream if broccoli & clam chowder). Also the price was $2 higher than listed on the website, Won't go back. Can get as good a buffet meal @ Golden Corral in Evansville for half the price.
