Came from Marion and it was so worth it! We ordered carry out but would have loved to stay and dine in. we were greeted as we came in the door and they made us feel right at home. We ordered multiple dishes to try. The portion sizes are large and everything was DELICIOUS. our family especially liked the beef stew with fufu and the plantain meat pie. we will definitely be back!

Fantastic meal in nice casual setting. Loved the sweet potato slices appetizer and the eggplant stew with fufu the best. the okra stew with seafood, vegan meatball stew and plantain meat pie were enjoyed by our group. Huge portions! Great flavors. Owner Sasha came to our table and said hello so we were able to thank her in person. Good service. Great meal.
Vegetarian options: Several excellent vegan options.

My fiancée and I were driving around on a Sunday afternoon looking for a place to eat after noticing every other place was packed. We pulled in to Legacy Village not expecting it to be open but they were! We were greeted happily and seated for their very first Sunday lunch service.
Immediately, we noticed a bright and welcoming atmosphere throughout the restaurant. This is thanks to the decor, the cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff. The lunch menus we were given was simple and clear. We were told the lunch portions would be smaller than the dinner portions but the portions did not disappoint in anyway. In fact we had leftovers.
We started with fried okra. I've had a lifetime in Indiana eating homemade fried okra. Legacy Village served me the best fried okra I've ever had. It was crispy, flavorful and consistent. The sweet honey-mustard-style sauce paired with the savory crunch so perfectly.
I chose the Liberian chicken wings as my entree. These were the three most gargantuan chicken wings I've ever seen in my life. As soon as they arrived at the table, I was overtaken by the aroma of a beautiful spice blend. The chicken wings are covered in a magnificent breading and sauce. The taste is a balance of spicy without being "hot" and tangy without being "sweet". The breading, covered in a thick and delicious sauce, never lost it's crunchy structural integrity. Pure magic.
My fiancée ordered the jollof rice with eggplant. She pretty confidently said it was one of--if not the--best meals she's ever had in her life. The savory, seasoned eggplant with rice cooked just right, paired with sublime fried plantains combined to make a wonderful lunch dish for any diet.
The chef took their time to come thank us for our patronage, a gesture we really appreciated. We couldn't thank them enough for their spectacular cooking on a Sunday afternoon. I'd rate this place six stars out of five if I could. Any true Muncie local should make an effort to include this restaurant in their regular dining schedule. Bravo.

I got the yam yam stew with fufu. I would’ve licked my plate clean if I hadn’t been in public. This is my new favorite spot.

Legacy West African is a gem in Muncie. The food is made with so much love and intention. The ox tail is phenomenal - the perfect amount of lemongrass.

Twice drove all the way there to get the dish I want and they don’t have it. The second, time I called first and was told they had it. Get there and was told they don’t have any. Explained to them I don’t live in the town And that I’m driving a distance to get it and they didn’t have a care in the world.
A MUST TRY!! Amazing! Amazing! This place is one of our favorites. Had some great oxtail! Best foods in Muncie! We try to go as much as we can. Quality ingredients, fresh, tasty, and enough to feed a King and Queen! I love the authenticity in the food/care prep'd and the customer service.

My boyfriend and I have been here multiple times. We knew from our very first visit that it was a MUST to return. We try something different every time, and every time our food has far exceeded our expectations! Everything is delicious and every single person we have encountered working here has been very kind, helpful, and given excellent service. From the food, atmosphere, and amazing staff this place is a must visit! We tell everyone we can to go try it!

The food was good. I ordered beef stew and my husband had goat curry. We also ordered fried plantains and chicken. It was pretty good. They were out of Diet Coke, sadly. They were also out of numerous menu items when we went so just beware. The waiter was a really nice kid though. Unfortunately, the restaurant isn’t super toddler friendly which is fine, just something to also beware about. We would go back.

First time having African cuisine. I think I'll probably just go down the menu and try everything out at some point.

Food wonderful, service wonderful, and price hard to believe. I got hot tea, fried sweet potatoes (serving is enough for 3-4), eggplant stew with fufu, and pineapple rice for less than $50. Has to be the best deal in

Listen, for those looking to try out something new and unique, go ahead and step out of your comfort zone. This place is one of one. We can't speak for everyones experience here, but our food was really good. And lastly to ALL the spicy hot sauce lovers ask them about their hot sauce you can get a side for $1 or a bigger take home size for $7. Good luck to you all. And I hope this review encourages the foodies out here in Muncie and the surrounding area to give it a try.
