Fries were fantastic! Cesar salad was a 4, Ruben was ok. Service was friendly but she need more traing on how to communicate. She didn't tell us the specials so we were unaware until after we ordered. We had to ask what the soup of the day was. Also when ordering we weren't told side came with the meal. As a restaurant manage I fully trained waters and waitresses how to communicate. Not her fault bad management traing. For the price food needs to be better quality. The fries are fantastic! Next time I may just order fries.

Roots Burger Bar near Ball State University is an absolute gem! I stopped in recently and ordered the turkey club sandwich, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had. Perfectly toasted bread, fresh ingredients, and just the right balance of flavors. You can tell they put care into what they serve.
The service was fantastic from the moment I walked in. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed. It’s the kind of place where you feel taken care of without any fuss.
The atmosphere is lively and fun, with that classic bar vibe that makes it a great spot to hang out with friends or grab a bite after class. Whether you're catching a game on one of the TVs or just enjoying the buzz of conversation, it’s got a great energy that’s both casual and inviting.
And for Ball State students, the location couldn’t be better. It's just a short walk from campus, which makes it super convenient for lunch breaks, study sessions, or weekend outings. It’s definitely a place I’ll be coming back to, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for great food, great service, and a fun local spot.

Myself and five family members visited here. We were greeted and seated quickly. The server was very friendly and efficient. We all had some type of burger. They all came out within 15-20 minutes. The burgers were very tasty and very large portions along with large portions of fries and tots. Price was reasonable.
I don’t recommend going if you are on the darker skin side . The first time I came I didn’t think anything of it , the 2nd time I looked around they were sitting me in the back of the restaurant walking passed a full side of open seats . They sat me in a closed section . VERY RACIST.

This was our first visit to Roots. This restaurant is not the same chain as Roots in Winchester (a positive). We had a great visit since the service was wonderful, as was the food. This was a pleasant surprise. We had a double burger and the Reuben. Both had flavor and we had no complaints. For those of you that like shaved corned beef on your Reuben, this is not shaved but is chopped and is very tender. We were not disappointed. We were able to park across the street on a Sunday, so parking was not an issue as others have mentioned We also appreciated the beer special. Our only complaint/ confusion was for the sides. We thought the menu said that onion rings were included as a side without an up charge. We were charged an additional $3.50 so we were a little surprised. The onion rings were good, but we did not feel they were worth the additional cost, especially for the small amount. We commented to each other that the portion was fair if included, but were surprised at the additional cost and small portion. We did not ask our bartender/ server if this was correct. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star rating. Regardless, we will definitely return soon.
