Sam was a great server. Kitaro is still working out some minor kinks. It is to be expected with a new restaurant in a development of 15 buildings that are only 3 completed. Prices reflect the new development and close proximity to Chicago. Northwest Indiana is not in a cornfield (or strawberry patch). Kitaro has a broad range including Suf & Turf. The Sushi is not the main event, but boasts some creativity and delightful dishes. My favourite was the Seared Tuna Japanese...
My husband had the chops. They were too salty but very soft. Veggies had too much salt. Soup was good. Good fries. My seared tuna costal rolls we salty. Pumpkin cheese cakes was good. Blood Orange Jalapeño margarita was missing the spiciness from the Jalapeño. Salad was pretty good. Good service. Plenty of parking.
I’ve never had such kind and quaint service - especially considering this was an important occasion. They really made sure to take care of us.
