I had excellent onion soup there one day and a very good breakfast the next. Everyone there commenting how good their food was. The breakfast is buffet, but due to pandemic you mark down what you want and server brings to you. I had excellent service both times.

Ate there for lunch on a Thursday. Service was incredibly SLOW. I ordered the grilled cheese-bacon sandwich with all three cheeses - waitress said $1 upcharge. Sandwich came - might have had 2 types of cheese, no bacon. Waitress scarce. I had finished the sandwich by the time she came back. Told her there was no bacon. She said I should have told her - hard to do when she isn't around! Bill had $1.50 upcharge for extra type of cheese. My next trip to Nashville, I will try a different restaurant.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary in Nashville and this was one of the restaurants we stopped in at. We were promptly seated and served by Ben, very pleasant attitude and just a jovial man. The food was very good not huge portions but very filling. I had the Turkey Manhattan and my wife had the chicken pot pie. Both weee very good we tried each other’s food. I had pecan pie and my wife had the chocolate cake both were excellent. Lovely restaurant inside.

Bad mattress, found bed bugs or spider bites in the morning (I still have them a week later!), next room's light bulb shining in our window, completely plugged up shower drain! Got zero sleep.

I only visited the restaurant, not the inn. Pleasant place and reasonable menu but the staff was utterly in the weeds and the cook had no idea *at all* how to cook meat (a hamburger). The waitress, an older woman, was a bit commanding and difficult to communicate with, but that's not much of a problem in itself. I asked for the special, a double cheese burger with slaw and a cup of soup as well. I asked that my 100%Angus burger be medium rare and run through the garden. I had to explain I wanted all the veggies they had for burgers to which she replied, "I don't know what they have. They might not have many choices." I said, "Of course, just the usual stuff but plenty of it." "Oh, I'm not sure what they have, but I'll tell them," she said with a sigh. Veggies on a burger are a common thing. Why were we even talking about this? When she returned with our water she said the patties were very thin and likely couldn't be cooked medium rare but the single was a nice thick burger which could be. I changed my order to the single. So, they take a regular burger and make it 2 smaller patties, call it a double and charge more? A "double" is twice your regular burger, that's the entire point. When I got my cup of chicken noodle soup, which was tasty and well made, I was informed by our waitress that my burger might be cooked medium because the local health inspector had recently been around warning about under cooked meat and fish. I said that wasn't a problem if the board of health insisted. I merely acquiesced as I know the laws in this state. Medium rare is considered sufficiently cooked. But it was becoming obvious that any common request I had would be seen as a burden, a difficulty to achieve. I smiled and told her to do what ever the board of health had asked. The burger came and looked good but it was on a 6 inch plate with a slice of tomato, 2 pickle slices, a miniature tub of mayonnaise and a severely wilted piece of lettuce about a third the size of one's hand. I immediately asked for onion, ketchup, more lettuce and then the waitress chimed in as if she was being helpful, "And mustard!" No request I made initially was fulfilled. Not one. 5 minutes later she returned with the requested fixings but the onion was cut in slices about 3/8 of an inch thick....that's a lot for a sandwich. Obviously they had no onion cut for sandwiches. I found all of this very curious but figured it wasn't worth making a fuss over. Ok, so I put my burger together, take a nice big bite....and it's completely raw inside. I spit it right back on the little plate, called the waitress over and told her to take it away, I didn't want it because it was raw and I had lost my appetite. She did so without much of an apology. My friend asked for a to-go box and I asked for the check. They doubled the charge on the soup I had....didn't even give me a thing for my BS experience. I had them change it to one cup. The cashier/manager was as listless in apologizing as the waitress was. No one seemed to give a damn that the chef AND the waitress were simply horrible at their jobs. A CHEF WHO DOESN'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO COOK MEAT IS A DANGER TO CUSTOMER'S HEALTH. This is simple, well documented, easily obtained information. I'll never return nor recommend this place.

Great food selection and attentive staff. Will definitely dine here on return trips. Food was hot and well presented.

Some things never change. And they don't need to change when they are so good. Artist's Colony has a good thing going on.

Yes, this place is for old people, but we still were here for lunch. The chicken pot pie has no crust? The filling gets a biscuit on top. Strange, but it tasted great. My wife had the chicken salad and liked it. Service was also good. We would go here again, given that the food was pretty good. I would not come here with teenagers, because they would be mortified to go to someplace with this vintage vibe.

This was the first place we stopped in Nashville. Beautiful dining room with gorgeous painting some of which were for sale but +$2500. We were there for lunch and were seated and ordered so after. The food was very good as was the service. It is a beautiful dining room.

Although we prefer some of the funkier places in town, we had our two kids—one of which is very particular about her food and doesn’t appreciate certain quaint charms and cluttered seating arrangements of other places. We knew the kids could get a basic grilled cheese and bowl of soup here. Our whole family liked the food well enough and the ambience, although a little 1980s-tinged, was nice, with large well spaced tables and big windows letting in lots of sunshine and street scenery. As my teenage daughter noted, “This is where old people like to eat” and at least this particular day, it was true! The chicken quiche was lacking in flavor, but nothing a little hot sauce can’t fix. The onion soup just had a square of cheese on the top, like you would put on a sandwich; I guess we are used to a generous topping of cheese that has spent a touch of time under the broiler. The kids really liked their chicken and rice soup. The service was good

We came for breakfast. We had reservations. Not all of the group was there when we arrived so we couldn’t be seated. Ok. I get that. So I ask, can I just get a cup of coffee while I wait. Nope. No. I was surprised at that. Wow. That was deal breaker for me coming back again next year. The server was very nice. She did a nice job with our table. Breakfast is check off what you want to eat on a checklist. Food was good and came out at a nice temp. I was just really taken aback at the “no” to the coffee request. I’ll find another place for breakfast next year.

Depending on the time of year, there can be a long wait, but it's got a great atmosphere and good food. We love stopping here every time we're in Nashville.

Due to covid, buffet selections are served to you. Portions great. Quiche was delicious! Gravy and biscuits were not hot. Nice place for breakfast.

Sun fries dipping sauce recipe has been changed. Reuben was good but chicken salad was ok (not enough chicken). Waitstaff was prompt and adept.
