Our first visit to Baer was last Sunday, and we couldn’t wait to go back again this Sunday! The food is consistently delicious and DeShawn is the BEST server in all the lands!!! We truly look forward to our Sunday visits to unwind, drink delicious wine and eat the most savory food!!!

An Unforgettable Experience at Baers City Winery!

From the moment we walked through the doors of Baers City Winery, we were welcomed with the kind of warmth and hospitality that immediately sets the tone for a perfect evening. The customer service was truly exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuine, making us feel like VIPs from the very start.

The ambiance was inviting and lively, enhanced by an incredible lineup of live music that added just the right touch of energy and charm to the night. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was crafted with care, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Paired with their outstanding selection of wines—i recommend the Papaw—it became a dining experience to remember.

Whether you’re a wine lover, a foodie, or just looking for a great night out, Baers City Winery delivers on every level. We can’t wait to come back and relive the magic all over again!

Absolutely incredible experience! The wine here is truly amazing—some of the best I’ve had. The customer service is spot on; the staff is so attentive and genuinely cares about your experience. Every dish we tried came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place that gets it all right—wine, food, and service!

My friend said after the last time we were there, she was done with the winery.

It took forever to even order our food. It appeared to only be two servers and they were also seating people and bartending. The food was decent but the overall experience was frustrating

Had a reservation for 6:30 tonight. The waiter seemed stressed and annoyed once we arrived, but seated us. Waited for thirty minutes and was never approached by a server for water or an order. Tried to get a drink at the bar, but that line was extremely backed up due to the lack of wait staff. Finally learned they only had three servers working the entire restaurant. Don’t accept reservations if you can’t accommodate. We were not the only table to leave.

Me and the wife came in about 40 minutes before close. We had the place almost to ourselves, very quaint. Bartender was well versed on the wine selection, so kind and amazingly hospitable. Food was delicious, wine was delicious. Can’t wait to dine here again

Poorly managed! 2 servers for a packed restaurant! One of our people didn’t get their food at all!! Three people received wine that had gone bad!! This used to be our favorite place, but not anymore!

There has been a change in management and staff and it's not for the better. We used to love it here but something has happened with new staff and new mgmt. We arrived at 530pm on Saturday night. There were only one or two tables with folks already there. There were two servers that we saw. It took forever to get service. It was over an hour before we got our food. I ordered what the menu said was beer- battered fish and parmesan fries. The food was cold. The fish was breaded, NOT beer battered. It was tiny. There was no parm to be found on the cold fries, but there was so much salt I could not eat them. We were a party of 6. No one had a pleasant experience due to poor food and poor service. Two of the guys ordered fettuccini with chicken. The chicken was rubber and close to inedible. Its a shame. At least the wines are still good...

I came in with my husband for my Christmas work party. We and 2 other couples ordered our food first, the manager said that way we didn't overwhelm the kitchen. Needless to say that we were served last. Everyone else was finished with their food before we got ours. There is no organization on parties. The servers were all over the place. There needs to better training to handle large groups. If our party is here next year, several couples will not go back. When my husband finally got his well done burger it was raw in the middle. The manager did try to fix that issue but once you bite into raw meat, your appetite for any food is gone.

I found Baer on random occasions when I find myself in New Albany. Once it was during harvest homecoming, and we were trying to find a place to sit and just relax. That’s how we came across the spot. The wind was good. The food was better. This time I was doing a cookie decorating class with a local baker. We finished our class and decided to hang around for some appetizers and some drinks. Again, the wine was very tasty. The appetizer that we got was a goat, cheese & garlic dip. It was incredible! It came out hot, sizzling and very flavorful with house made pita chips. It was the most spectacular appetizer I’ve had in sometime. We cleaned the bowl. I would love to go back at some point, intentionally!

Arrived about 7:30 ordered about 8:30. After waiting 45 minutes our food arrived lasagna burnt didn't eat and didn't pay for it. One Pizza was burnt black on the bottom and the plate had black crumbs, plus my fingers were black from holding the pizza. Brick oven pizza yes , but that was more of a dirty oven. Only would discount 15%. So I paid $20 bucks to scrape the meat and cheese off the top leaving the black crust.
Won't go back again.
