“The Earl is one of those rare places that hits the sweet spot between dive bar and craft beer hangout, without trying too hard. In the middle of downtown New Albany, it’s got a industrial interior with brick walls, rough hardwood floors, and exposed beams, that still manages to feel warm and personal, im sure helped by the Bill Murray mural and fridge shrine dedicated to him. It’s weird, it’s charming, and it totally works.

Their rotating lineup of local and regional craft beers is always on point. You’ll find something familiar like Country Boy, but also a few wildcards you’ve never seen before. It’s perfect for after work or a laid-back late night drink.

On a personal note, this is where I first told my girlfriend, now wife, that I was falling in love with her. So yeah, for all the cool beers and eccentric charm, and even Bill Murray, I can personally attest that The Earl is also the kind of place where memories are made and actually stick. Can’t recommend it enough!”

However, very disappointed that an Indiana chain brewery has purchased it as I understand it won't be brewing there and will be bringing their beers - that from my POV don't meet up to the current quality found now at FCBC - again my personal POV, others may disagree. Hope the brewer at FCBC finds a new home locally”

“I have dined in and also ordered carry out many times. This place is one of my favorite go to’s for excellent food, baked breads and desserts! Love the Strombolis, meatball sandwich, your bread pudding and cannolis are the best! The Orange Lavender bread is one of my favorites also. My friends and I tried out Legacy Pizza when they first opened and loved it. Very friendly staff and always a great dining experience. Just happy I can swing by and pick up curbside service while out shopping and in the area. The owner is always so nice! Highly recommend!”

“I finally get to visit this place after a while. They did get my attention when I posted the Friday Fish Day.

I love their location, and it does feel right. I love all of their decorations since it was unquie.

They have a good selection of beers, and I love how they have Guinness beers include and also local breweries too. I looked over the menu. They have great choice. I was impressed with their curried that made me want to try, which I would come back.

This time, I ordered samoas, which i never had it. It was so delicious and I love the sauce! Also, I ordered fish and chip. This fish and chips does remind me of my visit in Dublin, Ireland, which i miss it so much.

I truly appreciate how the people work there keep check on me. I truly appreciate it.

“It's a drive through for Coffee and other drinks. Offering hot and cold drinks. Never been disappointed with any of the flavors, there are suger free options. The servers are friendy and orders are served quickly. Look at the menu on their web site to see all the drink options and prices.”

“A solid choice for a bite to eat! This place has a hometown feel, and the staff helps create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Service has always been excellent, and the food is consistently good.
The hamburgers are tasty, and the wings are outstanding. The only issue we've noticed is that the fried pickles and fries have been overly salty during our last two visits. Aside from that, the food has been very enjoyable.
Overall, it's a great spot with good food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.”

“We were looking for a tasty fish sandwich...and boy we found one! The fish is beer battered and twice as big as the bun! So hot and crunchy and delicious! Good selection of beers, they said they are starting karaoke night on Saturdays at 8pm, and have outdoor cornhole tournaments on Fridays. Seems like this is a fun place to be!

“April 13th, 2026 Another Update: The new manager, I believe he's the new GM there, Charles, is great. He goes out of his way to take care of customers properly. I haven't had anything since he's been there except the stuffed crust pizzas but he's been doing a great job on those for sure! Updated the star rating accordingly.

Update: credit to management for at least replying to the original review, shown below. Now for an update: I didn't wait a couple of months. They started advertising a new pan pizza. Sounded good, looked good, Detroit style, I'm in. So I ordered a couple. I'm uploading one picture. The sauce was applied to both pizzas the exact same way. It's not that hard. A real small line near the edge of the tray? Seriously? Then a couple of days later - because I had a birthday reward for a free cinnamon wheel -I go ahead and order a papa's picks four cheese pizza on original dough. You would have thought I ordered a thin crust pizza, and very poorly prepared at that. This is a perfect example of the dough management and product preparation I complained about in the original, recent review. Hopefully somebody there will see this and train the employees to ensure quality products being prepared at this location. Feel free to contact me, you kind of owe me a pizza based on recent experiences I would say, to be fair. At any rate, pictures to follow.

Until this location improves their dough management, I won't be back. I guess it'll be a hit and miss thing but I'm going to give it a couple of months I guess. The last couple of times the dough either on the pizza or the cheesy bread or both has been very much substandard. Like it was old or something.

It's a shame. Used to be such a great product. Staff has been fine in terms of friendliness. It's product quality that's been the problem.

To top it off, management doesn't even seem to pay attention to these reviews. I can't imagine ignoring feedback from customers in managing a business.”

“I can’t vouch for atmosphere since I used Door Dash. I felt bad because I didn’t pay attention that they’re in New Albany and I’m currently in Louisville just over the bridge. Any way, wish I’d took a photo before I dug in. The Szechuan chicken was tender w just the right amount of spice. Beef w broccoli was also tender, the steamed rice w both was perfect. Just the way I like it. Their beef mei fun is now my favorite hands down. All of the veggies were cooked perfectly crisp tender. The steamed dumplins were nice sized and packed w the perfect amount of filler. Everything I ordered arrived hot and delicious. When I get back home to New Albany this will be my new favorite place to order Chinese take out! I wish I had found them sooner, they are exactly what I’ve been searching for since moving to the Kentuckiana area.”

“One of the items I got from there today was a large strawberry milkshake. The milkshake was literally sour. I spoke with Makayla Bishop. She said she put my name down for a free large milkshake, but said that was the only option. She was friendly about it, but I could not imagine serving someone a sour milkshake, and telling them the only option was to try another one of our milkshakes. I think if I buy a soured milkshake from your company, and I want my money back, because I will never buy another milkshake there again, I should have that option. She did say that she made the milkshakes fresh today. but that doesn't mean that it wasn't sour. This is a really poor business practice, especially for a two-star restaurant. You need to start listening to your customers. I think she handled it the best she could. but there are obviously unethical people telling her they can't give money back, even if they are served inferior products. Due to your unethical policy, I will be reporting this incident to the health department. You really think I want a free milkshake? I came for good service, not replacement food. y You policy suggests that you think you are doing someone a favor by replacing dangerous food that you serve. I only visited, because my son wanted a milkshake, and now he said he will never want to go there again either.”

“I love both Pizza King locations, but I do prefer the Jeffersonville location. It's smaller, usually less crowded since it doesn't have a train side, and the staff is very friendly. I love their pizza, it's my favorite place to eat! The only downside is the fact they are closed on Mondays.”
