Best Italian restaurant this side of the river. They're doing it old school style here and you can taste it in every bite. The baked ziti is absolutely inspired.Tue calzone is the best I've had in recent memory.
Portions are generous for what you pay. I think that two could probably share the baked ziti if you also get appetizers. Overall, fresh, hot, delicious food at a reasonable price.
We will be back. Often.

We recently moved to the area and thought we would finally try Mimo’s. Unfortunately, we will not be back. We got the calamari appetizer and linguine with clams. The calamari was totally frozen. You would think an Italian restaurant would have fresh calamari.. it was terrible. The clams with linguine was a greasy mass. It was totally coded in oil and I got sick to my stomach. Also, there were just a few claims in it. For $28 I could’ve made a four course meal for four people with clams Abundant much less five or six little clams oh well chalk one up to giving them a try. We learned our lesson and will not be back.
I visited Mimo’s Pizzeria yesterday with my family. It’s been in the area for years, but it’s one of those places that has never really been promoted or talked about like some of the better-known spots, such as Amore. I had been there once before to place a takeout order but ended up leaving before ordering—so this was our first real sit-down experience.
The inside of the restaurant was cozy and quiet, which we appreciated, especially compared to the packed, louder alternatives. The pizza did look appealing from what we saw being served to other tables, but for some reason, none of us ended up ordering it. That may have been our mistake.
Instead, my mother and I both ordered the manicotti, and it was unfortunately overcooked and tough. The chicken tenders and wings were also overdone and dry. I mentioned this politely to the waiter—not looking for a discount, just giving honest feedback. What disappointed me most was that the owner, who was also the cook and was clearly present, didn’t come out to acknowledge the issue. Instead, he had the waiter handle the entire conversation, which felt like a missed opportunity for leadership and hospitality.
Was it the worst meal I’ve had? Not at all. But for a $175 bill (plus a $52 tip to our kind server), I expected a bit more care in the food and ownership of the customer experience. I run several businesses myself, and I know how important feedback is. You only get better when you listen and engage.
I may give their pizza a try one day, as that seemed like the highlight, but for now, I think there are plenty of other places to explore.

We love the delicious pizza and alfredo linguine at Mimo’s Pizzaria. The garlic knots are delicious with their amazing marina sauce. The atmosphere is very elegant with cloth tablecloths and napkins. The service is always impeccable and they now have an outdoor dining area. We highly recommend you try this restaurant and you will be a fan too.

Ordered pickup. Pizza was cold, garlic knots were crunchy and hard. I ordered 2 hours ahead, I think they made the pizza then and set it to the side. When I picked up, barely a word from the staff just handed it to me, no thank you or anything. I did tip since I paid in advance, they did not earn it!

Mimo’s just keeps getting better! They recently renovated the entire inside—fresh paint, charming decor, and a warm, inviting vibe that feels brand new while still keeping its cozy charm. But the real showstopper is the new patio! It’s the most quaint outdoor dining spot in town. With hanging plants, market lights, and overhead fans to keep you cool even on a hot day, it feels like you’ve stumbled into a little bistro in Rome.
Of course, the food is still the star—crispy, cheesy pizza made with fresh ingredients, mouthwatering pasta, and garlic knots that are dangerously addictive. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making every visit a great experience. Whether you’re a longtime local or just passing through, Mimo’s is a must-try in New Albany.

We love Mimo's. The food is excellent and pure Italian; the place reminds us of NYC. We have had the lasagna, pizza, calzone, ravioli and the eggplant parmigiana....all excellent. We are regulars.

You’d be silly not to indulge yourself with this authentic Italian food. We wanted Italian last week but had such a long week we did not feel like cooking. Eggplant was fried and seasoned with perfection, noodles cooked exceptionally well, the sauces all made with love, salads were crispy and fresh and the calzones were a bomb of flavoring. Local spot with an absolute ton of love cooked right into each dish.

This place is hands down one of the best pizza spots I’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the amazing aroma of freshly baked dough and perfectly melted cheese. The staff are super friendly, fast, and know their menu inside out.
The pizza? Out of this world. The crust is the perfect balance between crispy and chewy, the sauce is rich and flavorful, and the toppings are always fresh and generous. Whether you’re into classic Margherita or something loaded like Meat Lovers or BBQ Chicken, they nail it every single time.
Prices are fair, portions are satisfying, and the vibes are just right — casual, clean, and cozy. I’ve been here multiple times and it never disappoints. If you’re a true pizza lover, this place is a MUST.
