Opted for table being that I just don't like being sat at random grills with unknown people and they had younger kids with them. I work at a school so I was done with kids for the day. Kept asking for drink menu didn't receive. Took forever to get the roll we ordered. Got it once half of meal was gone.

No lies, my experience here was so bad I'm writing about this 3 weeks after even going. The experience was that bad. Most of it revolved around our server, Emerson, so I dont fault the restaurant totally but there were other employees involved in the debacle.
first things first, the food is just meh. i love volcano rolls and I would never get this one again. Something about tomo feels like...i dunno...ghetto fabulous sushi. not that we were looking for authentic but it's just not for me.
We sat at a hibachi table with two toddlers. Thankfully we were busy with them because it helped distract from the fact that we we didnt get offered drinks for 30 minutes and food for the first hour. I'm guessing they were low staffed so we had to wait for the hibachi chef to finish the other tables to come to us. Half of us got one menu and the other half another but we didnt realize it because of the way we were seated around the table. we got no refills on drinks, our orders were all messed up (i ordered chicken fried rice for hibachi and didnt get any. the chef even went to the back to clear things up and came back with no chicken for me. we also we got some of the wrong food) and when I went to personally talk to our server about what i felt could go better he said "I'm sorry, man. I've been coming here for years and I wouldn't expect much from the service here. It's always bad." again, my server who gave me bad service said this to me. Then when collecting our checks they missed one. we didnt realize it til half the group was getting to leave but our sever was nowhere to be seen after. tried telling the guy wiping the tables but there was a clear language barrier. I had to go directly to the register to pay for the meal long after my friends had all gone. I spoke with management about this and they tried to help but even they were kinda confused? i was so flustered i just wanted to leave to catch up with my party but they said this was all because the server was new.
I gave the food 3/5 because it wasnt bad but it wasnt good?
service got 1/5 because it seemed the only person who really understood english or what was said was my server and he was bad.
4/5 atmosphere because there's something here that makes me feel like the locals probably love it. it's not homey but it's fine.
I wont be returning.

Fly in my food
Manger done nothing
Only reason I gave one star is because our food was good, aside from the uncooked broccoli and onions for my hibachi plate. We never saw our server again after he took the veg back to be cooked properly and he said we were his only table. I was with my two special needs sons and we are a very laid back family. We waited a while then grew impatient due to needing refills, boxes and the check so we could get to our next destination. Walked up to the front, told the manager and he barely blinked. I spoke up about how upset my kids were and asked how they’ll compensate for their mistakes, but he only offered to take one of our drinks off. I denied it. He didn’t apologize until after payment.

Had a tuna avocado appetizer was good but I don’t think there was much tuna in it. Ordered salmon and yellowtail sashimi ala carte and the portion was very small. I’ve never had such a thin piece of sashimi. The fish was fresh tasting. Also had candy cane roll which seemed like a decent portion and was good.
We sat at a table in the corner with a curtain divider it was very strange setup.

Needing to wait for my husband and son to arrive before I can be seated in the EMPTY restaurant at 4:45 is ridiculous. It’s not like it was some large party waiting for a hibachi table. It’s a party of 3. I will take business somewhere that I can sit and order drinks before their arrival. I could have said party of one and been seated at probably the same exact table right away. No common sense anymore.
