We always enjoy Zesto in New Albany. We especially like the pork barbecue sandwich and their soft drinks are still reasonably priced. We ate in the car tonight; however, there are several picnic tables and benches available for folks to eat their treats. Pesto is a family oriented venue but couples and solo individuals can also have a wonderful experience.

I turn 50 years old this December. Since I first started remembering, Zesto's has been there and a lifelong affair. I have ordered thousands of large thick banana malt milkshakes over the many decades along with many other items. They have always been consistently the same and especially on the thick part. They have always been thick to the point that I have had to use a spoon if I didn't want to wait for it to melt a little bit. Anyways this year everyone I have gotten has been so soupy it pours out like water. Like I said they have previously been thick like a Dairy Queen Blizzard. I finally questioned this at the window tonight and I was told that's easily solved and that too much milk is being used and making it thin. That's what I thought to begin with and I agreed. My server has worked with Zestos for 50 years so I assumed she knew what she was talking about. I received my milkshake and walked back to the vehicle. I took the lid off to check it and it was pure liquid. I debated going back up there so my wife took it up there and talked to our server. She now informed us that it was as thick as it could be made and the bananas are full of liquid and that's what made it get so soupy. I was totally floored by this response as we had just talked about adding too much milk makes it soupy and now the banana is making it totally watery and there's nothing she can do about it. I really do not like to leave a long review or a nad one if I can avoid it, but after being told something that is not right I will report it. A lil less milk or just adding a little more vanilla ice cream could have solved the thickness issue. Do I have to order a milkshake with no milk added? I hate when people try to tell me how something is when I've been ordering thousands of the same thing for almost 50 years and have just a little idea of what the product is.

Good ice cream and the usual creamy whip fare, plus some hand scooped options. I've heard their chili dogs are fantastic. We have given up on DQ for ice cream treats because of abominable service. This is our new go to spot.

Lady at the window seemed to be annoyed that people were there ordering. When I went up to order I got no greeting. She just asked what I wanted and then proceeded to state my total and once I paid she closed the window on me. Ice cream wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t worth the bad attitude people were receiving. This was at 3ish on 8/7.

Got a hot dog and a vortex from there today. I took the hot dog back into the car with some friends also in the vehicle. I proceeded to open the hot dog and a foul smell was released and it also tasted disgusting. Never getting a hot dog from there again, I will stick to eating Polly’s Freeze hot dogs. The vortex was alright nothing worth driving a while for. The lady at the register seemed to be lacking customer service characteristics and Zestos should reconsider who they are hiring. I also said thank you, fairly loudly, as they handed me my stuff and I received no acknowledgment of my praises.

Ok i go zesto Often. Usually all good! However, the person working it to go window today had no idea what he was doing. There was a line of cars that sat in line for about 10 minutes or more 4 or 5 of them. Left the car in front of me had already paid for their order and they left when I got to the window. Add an ice cream cone. That was sitting there, melting, why the guy was taking care of people that were at the walk up window? This guy had absolutely no clue as to how to organize and work the window and the walk up window. Also I was very disappointed and what I received today. This was about 2:30. On Sunday, August 3rd

Always a good experience and great icecream. So happy they brought back the strawberry shortcake this summer!
