Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Sent back the beans and greens. Tasted like they we straight from a can with no seasoning. Disappointed they have really gone down hill. Very nice server.

Breakfast at Plainfield Cracker Barrel, food was good . Service was excellent! Donna our server was very pleasant , greeted us promptly. Always had our coffee cups filled. Checked with us multiple times to see if we needed anything. This was the best service we have ever had at this restaurant. We will definitely frequent more often and ask for her station .

Everything was not as good as usual. Gravy unseasoned, vegetables cold, sirloin was med well in places and rare in others. Server was nice, but only biscuits were good.

Always had amazing time and food at every Cracker Barrel that I have been to. Unfortunately, did not have that experience at this one. Ordered the Friday fish fry with fried okra and dumplings. Got three tiny pieces of fish, about 8-9 undercooked pieces of okra, and a cup of dumpling juice with one dumpling in it. Will definitely not be back to this Cracker Barrel.

My husband ordered the chicken and dumplings entree with two sides. He received a bowl of excessive dumpling broth with 2 dumplings, but a reasonable amount of chicken. Unfortunately, there were small bones in the chicken as well. When the server came back, I asked her if the portion of dumplings was normal (we knew it wasn’t). She said it was not and brought him an extra side of just dumplings to add to the broth, which was fine. I ordered the vegetable plate which included a side of dumplings, which I didn’t receive initially. The portion was normal for a side, but there was some chicken in it. It did not bother me, but I did mention it to the server because some people order a vegetable plate with the intention of no meat. She said that was a good point. I’m not sure who dishes up the orders, but I’m thinking that lack of training or awareness might be the issue. The server was very kind and responsive to the issues we presented to her. In addition, the vegetables served on my vegetable plate were also smaller than we receive at most Cracker Barrel locations. We did not address the vegetable portion size with the server as we had already taken up enough of her time with the other issues.
