Me and my family used to be heavy, happy dragon customers around 8 years ago. Ever since they changed new owners the food Has been atrocious/ nasty. I don’t know why I keep seeing all these good reviews because that’s not the truth. Mind you I’ve been a local in Plainfield for over 23 years and I mean the food has gotten disgusting. The chicken, I don’t know what that is but it’s not chicken. The rice is not fresh does not even look like fried rice. Yes the people are friendly, but the food is deceiving and it’s disgusting. I would not feed it to your kids or yourself. I had the chicken fried rice. The easiest thing you can make and I got sick off of it. Well wishes on finding good takeout but this ain’t it.

As someone who didn’t order the buffet, I liked my experience. I ordered plain lo mein & egg fried rice, and when I say it came in under 5 minutes, it did. I thought the food was flavorful, even without veggies/meat, though the sauce for the lo mein could use a little more oomph. Nothing was burnt or over/undercooked.

All of the employees were polite and sweet, I liked the decor, and it seemed very clean in here. There was one woman who was very attentive about cleaning tables and the floor whenever someone left. It’s a little bit of a drive, though I’d make the trip again.

This has always been our go to for General Tao’s Tofu and it was always so good!
But tonight it was awful. The Tofu was like it had been fried, sat around, fried again, sat around, and then cooked again for my order. It did not have a soft center of freshly fried Tofu, it was also very dark in color.
My husbands General Tao’s Chicken was just ok tonight. Again not up to past times.
Will have to rethink where to get good Chinese Tofu in the future.

The food was horrible. It was not fresh AT ALL just re warmed. It upset my stomach. I dont recommend anyone eat here. Honestly I'm not happy about spending $23 for old food. It's a disgrace.

My wife and I got lunch at the Happy Dragon one day because of a menu we got in the mail. The food was well seasoned and cooked, hot and fresh as well. Definitely a great deal for the lunch specials! I have no complaints honestly this is a really good Chinese restaurant, 10/10 would recommend it.

This place has went downhill. Every time i give them a try… i regret it! It’s like they serve food from 3 days ago! The food is never FRESH to begin with or good to eat it next day because it looks like they had already made it 3 days ago! Chicken wings be just as hard and looks/taste like they fried them 3 times over. The health department really needs to come check them out. Crab Rangoon be just as oily and burnt. THEY DONT EVEN DESERVE A STAR! 40 dollars gone down the drain. I highly recommend the Chinese place in Avon “Great Wall”!

Was treated like I was an inconvenience when I came to pick up my pick up order. The lady had an angry look on her face & acted as if she had a problem with me. I'm a black male which probably played a part of her attitude.

It was clean and the people were nice. I ordered the house fried rice, won tons and pork egg rolls. I've had a lot of rice at various restaurants in different states over the years, but I'm sorry this food all tasted bad. I can't explain the flavor, but it didn't seem right. The egg rolls were filled with 100% cabbage with .00001% pork. The house fried rice had a couple of pieces of meat with orange colored rice. The bottom of the won tons were black and had a strange flavor as well. I tossed it all. I don't typically leave restaurant reviews, but I had to this time. Sorry.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant to go to in Plainfield. My favorite meal is the crab rangoons and the shrimp with mixed vegetables with white sauce and white rice. The crab rangoons are the best around. The rice is always the perfect texture, and the shrimp and vegetables are always fresh with great flavor. I've been going to this restaurant for years for takeout and always have a good experience.
