We drove almost an hour to have dinner and my manicotti was not good. I have had it in the past and realize things happen. But when I sent it back they wanted to give me $6 off. which is sad cuz I didn't eat but a couple bites. Sad they didn't take care of me as a customer cuz now I just won't be back.

Sal’s, what has happened? Used to love everything I ordered from your menu, but sadly I have to say this past Saturday 9/28/24 when we stopped in for dinner, nothing was up to the old standards. The grilled chicken fettuccine was cubed chicken and not the normal grilled chicken breast. The fettuccine was soupy and had no taste. Oh, and what has happened to your famous chunky bleu cheese dressing? Why have you switched to a runny yellowish bleu cheese dressing? I used to rave about it, but not now. The 4 Stagoni had more artichoke than chicken, and same thing with the chicken, it was not the chicken breast as before but little pieces of cubed chicken. It was also more like a soup than a pasta meal, I believe there was enough of the sauce on it to have covered 3 other plates of Stagoni. I’m so sorry to have to complain, but this just isn’t the same old Sal’s it used to be. I’ve heard from others, similar circumstances. I do hope this is taken constructively and that someone will do something to improve upon my bad experience, as we don’t have many other Italian cuisines to choose from in Plainfield. Resident of Plainfield for over 50 years.

The staff was very nice. I have eaten there at the restaurant they have a very nice patio with an outdoor bar. It is well shaded. I also recently got a large amount of food for a luncheon at my job. They offer catering. It was ready on time and they loaded my car up for me. Food was fresh and hot. Everyone enjoyed the food. I recommend them for dining in or catering events.
Vegetarian options: They have plenty of meatless options. If vegan I'm not sure.
Parking: They have their own parking lot. Plenty of parking.

Cesar salad had a lot of water in the bottom of the container and the chicken was burnt. Would not recommend carry out dinners. Second time we had horrible food with carry out if it isn’t pizza?

We ordered food at 3:45pm to be picked up at 5pm. We go to pick it up and the order was given to someone else. They claimed they confirmed the order which was not true. They would not refund us the money just cook the food again while my husband had to wait. No apology at first and my husband heard a call from the people for took our order saying they had the wrong food. When they were confronted then there was a slight apology and the manager saying that all that was confirmed was the time of pick up. This is a very poor practice and in the future you might want to look at a confirmation email first and treat the wrong party with more respect.

We placed an order for a work lunch, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations. The marinara sauce was bland and disappointing, and while I understand calamari doesn’t travel well, it seemed it might not have been fresh from the start. Overall, the quality of the food was lacking. We’ve recently moved to the area and hoped for a better introduction to what Plainfield has to offer, especially since this place came highly recommended.
Shockingly bad pizza ... CLEARLY BURNT ... INEDIBLE. That it was boxed up and sealed with a thank you sticker, one no doubt put on so when we picked up we wouldn't look ... it was beyond inexcusable!!!
Never again!
On top of that the staff was dismissive of my complaint when i called in. The woman didn't bother to offer to remake it.

Took my family to this restaurant ordered for two kids (kids meals) and two adults, waited for over 45 mins watched two other customers sit down after us and finish their entire meals, waiter came to our table and we asked how long he told us 5 more mins the patio is very busy…went to the patio and counted a total of 6 customers total all of which had their food, sat back down waited the additional 5 mins and decided I had enough I walked out with my family very unhappy. I will never be back and I will be telling everyone I know how terrible the service is and to the owner that sees this do not bother to contact me because I am uninterested in getting a complimentary meal or gift card. The amount of inconvenience your restaurant has caused my family with two small kids and a baby is ridiculous and I thought going to a family restaurant you would understand the importance of family but it is abundantly evident that is not a value of yours. If there were a negative star scale I would hit them all across the board. You don’t deserve the star it requires it me to put to post this!
