The Prewitt Restaurant + Lounge

Food was good, service was not impressive. We waited a long time to place our order and long time after to get our food. Overall, experience was decent but perhaps not worth the wait. The vibe of the place is not what you'd expect for a restored theater. It was not cozy at all but was like one giant concrete room. It looked like every other trendy restaurant trying to appear fancy.

Place is very neat theme. Good appetizers, sides, dessert, and drinks. The mains were pretty bland unfortunately. We booked an igloo which was a good experience. Very quiet and comfortable. Our waitress was great, but overall food service was slow, but we weren't in a hurry so it was ok.

Enjoyed Valentines Day dinner with my husband. Food always excellent - I had the fillet and could legitimately cut it with my fork! My husband got the ribeye that was a Valentines special and was delicious. We enjoyed the complimentary chocolate covered strawberries as a a desert. There was a live saxophone player on the stage which was amazing! The ambiance was fun, laid back and enjoyable.

Service was excellent, drinks were amazing, appetizers were delicious, however all entrees in in our party were extremely bland and tasteless.

Food was excellent. Menu had several choices with variety. Our server, Joe , was outstanding. Despite being very busy, he was attentive, with a great personality. The only negative was that the music was too loud. Tough to have a conversation. Would definitely go there again.

Love this restaurant in Plainfield. The service, the food, all things were good here. Even took home a souvenir program with a menu on the back highlighting all the different foods. Definitely, returning here again!!!

We had such an amazing experience here from start to finish. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, the staff was friendly and attentive, and every detail felt thoughtfully done. The food was absolutely incredible — everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they take pride in what they do.

LOVE The Prewitt!! Their food is always outstanding and their service cannot be beat! It's a very unique restaurant that feels warm and inviting from the moment you step inside.

We dined at the Prewitt Friday evening 1/23/26. I ordered the braised shortrib bolognese. It came out cold. I returned, explaining my reason. It came out a second time cold. I then simply asked for a box to bring it home. Hopefully left over and warmed appropriately will be good. The waiter did bring me a free dessert as an apology. Not cool. Others at the table (4 of us) were not happy with their food either. Swordfish was too fishy. Pork Chop luke warm. Fries nothing spectacular. We will never return.

The dining experience in the igloo was fun and allowed our party to be able to focus on each other without distraction. Food was delicious, and service was very friendly and fun.

My hubby and I chose The Prewitt for a much needed date night. I really wanted to try the scallop piccata they are advertising for January. We loved the short rib egg roll and our drinks were really good. Once we got our food though… my risotto was cold and I had to spit out the scallop because it was barely cooked. The kitchen made me a new plate but, even that one had lukewarm risotto and not fully cooked scallops. I told our waitress (who was amazing by the way!) that I would just bring it home and heat it up. We noticed a women near us ordered the same thing and she had to send it back also. They took my meal off of the check which was very kind and appreciated but, we still spent $100 after tip….and I had to come home and cook my food to temp. The atmosphere is lovely, our waitress and the waiter near us were so nice and helpful, but… to have undercooked scallops and cold risotto (Twice!) was super disappointing.

Excellent food and service. Nice dinner atmosphere and many desirable menu options. The Chicken Marsala and Salmon entrees were delicious and presented beautifully. The side vegetables were cooked perfectly. What a great dinner!

Celebrating my sister's birthday. The server we had served my sister and my niece at a different restaurant once before. And they loved her service.We were glad that we had her.

Was very excited to try this place...service was average, atmosphere was nice, but the food was a huge disappointment. Appetizers were very good, but the entrees lacked flavor and the preparation wasn't the best...vegetables were soggy and the fish was overcooked.
