I have been interested in visiting this establishment for some time, as I pass by it twice daily during my commute. The atmosphere is modern and welcoming, with a distinctive approach that sets it apart from other Mexican restaurants. We arrived around 7 p.m. on Saturday and experienced a brief wait, which was acceptable. The service was excellent, which is why I am giving it two stars.
However, I was disappointed with the food quality. We started with the Jalapeño Queso Dip, which was quite runny but had a pleasant jalapeño undertone. My wife ordered some standard tacos, which, considering the price, did not stand out.
My main dish, the Papantla, was unfortunately overcooked. The skirt steak had the texture of beef jerky, paired with a dull house-made chipotle sauce. The shrimp was also dry, with the last bite leaving an unpleasant taste reminiscent of ammonia.
I wanted to have a positive experience at this restaurant, but regretfully, I do not plan to return.

Their brunch is fantastic! We love trying all the different ceviches, and the chilaquiles are amazing. The service is always helpful, friendly, and quick to solve issues if they arise. I think it is a great addition to the Plainfield area, and we are glad to have another authentic Mexican cuisine option nearby.

Very professional and polite ! That was the best; the waiter was informative and helped up decide on dishes and drinks. The cocktails were perfect, the steak was very well prepared and the presentation was spot on. Notice to the those thinking this is just a regular Mexican restaurant it is not, it is an upscale dining restaurant.

We really enjoyed the food—everything was freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. The Tlahcos Molcajete is a must-try, packed with perfectly grilled meats, shrimp, and more. The habanero salsa delivers a bold, spicy kick, and the Mezcal Old Fashioned is absolutely worth ordering.

Writing the review as I sit… waiting on my check. Don’t come if you’re in a hurry. It’s just me and this was the slowest dining experience it felt like. My server was sweet and nice when I saw her. The food is good and I feel like the price is not as much as I expected for my normal Mexican quesa birria tacos and esquite and the chips and salsa was good I just needed a drink and was parched waiting so long. My only recommendation is to train your servers on customer service. Don’t let customers sit down ready to order for 10-15 min without even getting them a drink then not bringing it until later when the appetizer comes out. I sat at a bar table with servers passing by the whole time, I was the only person in the bar area, and a bartender who was cleaning the entire time and didn’t once ask if he could grab me a drink while I wait. Food didn’t take long to get it just took forever waiting for a drink, to order, waiting for a refill, getting a check and to go box. Waited forever after finishing food for a refill. Then continued to wait a while for my check and a to go box. I think the place is worth trying and food is good, I just really worry about the service at this place if it’s remotely busy. Teach your servers to keep an eye out for each other and don’t let a customer sit so long that needs something because it’s not your table. It’s a team effort.

Wow ! So much class and quality and flavor in one place and I spent less then $25. Luis was an absolutely amazing server. The hospitality and service he provides makes you feel so welcomed. The food is high quality scratch made ingredients and taste so good I wanted to actually hug the cook. I’ll definitely be back !
