When you see a taqueria with a grocery attached, you go there instead of the neighboring fast food chain. They have fresh ingredients and that food comes out hot. Cabeza and carnitas burritos were deeply fulfilling, and deeply flavorful. Grab takeout and a couple drinks over in the grocery, grab a package of tamales for later.
For me, this place is more or less….It is expensive for what they offer. The food tastes good, but the meat was not of high quality and there was a lot of fat that cannot be eaten. $4 for a taco, really? They don't offer rice and beans or chips and salsa like other restaurants. The menu says that all dishes include rice and beans but that is a lie. Better to go to another restaurant. There are other Mexican restaurants in Rensselaer. My wife and I paid $20 but we only ate...
Ok. Do not let this place fool you and make you think it is just a taco stand that doesn’t look so good. It’s amazing. The food was great!! Fresh and plentiful. The store was packed with treats as well as fresh meats, produce and tons of other goodies. Very lovely service. Great prices and would love to go back!
Vegetarian options: Very receptive to making any thing they could with eggs. My daughter had amazing egg and cheese corn tortilla tacos. So good.
