Some would say that I am particularly partial when writing this review, but I as well am known to be a very honest and straightforward person. With that being said, I used to work at this establishment as well as my younger sister, Autumn as well currently works there and I can tell you now not only service, but the food is beyond. Amazing . It will surpass any expectation you have of a Mexican restaurant in the heart of a small town as Salem Indiana. The service is phenomenal. And you just get a family oriented vibe when interacting with the staff. The owner Does not just oversee the business. He is very involved, hands-on and one on one with not only the customer but his employees as well and I can say the same for his wife. If you are wanting an experience where it’s big bang for your buck, please give them a try. You will not disappoint yourself. If I were going to give a recommendation on what to get, I would either recommend the chicken cheese and rice, which is a bit of authentic Mexican rice, filled with mini spices to satisfy your taste buds layered with seasoned grilled chicken, fresh off the grill topped with creamy white queso and if you wanna go a step up, you can add fajita veggies, which is a mixture of bell peppers and onions, fresh off the grill also. I would recommend your classic Mexican dish of enchiladas Verde style which is with the green tangy hint of sweet sauce to top your choice of beef, chicken or cheese enchiladas with a side of Mexican rice. Happy eatings and hopefully you enjoy this place as much as I have, and will continue to.

I ordered a chipotle chicken quesadilla and this is what showed up. It looks more like a burrito that fell on the floor. The chicken was bland along with sauce on top. The waiter/host couldn't be bothered to refill our drinks. The serve was subpar. The restaurant when you first walk has an odor of urine. We were the only patrons in the restaurant at 3:00. I guess I shouldn't go to Indiana for Mexican food. This place is definitely a pass on our next visit. Do yourself a favor and save your money and go someplace else to eat. Maybe Taco Bell!?

The food was authentic Mexican food!! From the complementary salsa to the Amazing white cheese dip. The service is spectacular! The dinning area is just like sitting in old Mexico!! I highly recommend you to visit!!

This is a great place for all of your favorite Mexican flavors. The service here is fast and you will likely get seated quickly. It is an easy restaurant to find located just south of the court house square in a small shopping area. The facility is kept clean. The food is very tastey and will come out quickly and hot. There is plenty of parking in the large lot and it is free.

Fantastic food. The margarita was ok, but I've had better. Next time I'll try a blackberry. Staff was quick.

We went before the dinner rush and it was wonderful! Quiet, food arriving quick and fresh, with an attentive staff on hand. We rarely dine in, opting for take out instead. I'm glad we took the chance!

El Camino's was very good I got a dish called the volcano. It was very delicious and my wife got I believe the taco bowl. Our experience was good. Will go back and will get pictures next time.

Happy valentine's or at least is was until I went to dinner here. Ordered our food and the waiter corrected with me about what I wanted twice. My husband got a 10oz steak that was supposed to be medium rare it was like leather and thin as can be with a huge part of it being just fat. When I looked at my food it was not even remotely what I ordered. The waiter was M.I.A. so I had to get another waiter to help me get the right food. So by the time I ate my husband was done with his meal. This is my anniversary dinner not just valentine's day for me. Really disappointed!

My husband said his food was decent, however mine was not great at all. The chips were stale, the salsa had no flavor (it tasted like marinara basically) I had a type of street tacos and the cilantro was flavorless, the sauce it came with was okay, but also not what it’s supposed to be which is spicy. So yeah, if you’re lookin for flavor, this ain’t it.

Located in Salem Indiana is a great little Mexican restaurant called El Caminos! Prompt greet at the door, immediately seated at our table with ten guests. Chips and salsa on the table as the server took our drink order. The chips were fresh and the salsa was okay. We ordered our food, I had the burrito plate, it was fat and tasty and the presentation was very nice. The rest of the the guests ordered fajitas tacos and short ribs. No one complained! It was a very nice experience and I definitely recommend eating there.

The food here was not great. The salsa tasted like marinara sauce and the secondary veggies became the main part of the burrito. The service wasn't great either, we only got one set of silverware and didn't get straws until we asked for them. In general the only thing keeping this place a 3 star is the environment. Do not recommend.
