We have been coming here for over 30 years. The food has always been good. Just like everywhere else prices have gone up, and we understand this. We were always offered a basket with crackers, garlic toast and cheese. Also the option for beets, coleslaw, and cottage cheese. They also offered bread and butter. Most often we chose not to have the bread. Cottage cheese was eliminated and as prices went up, they decided to charge for coleslaw and beets, and bread and cheese. Now they have eliminated the garlic toast ( a favorite of my husband) When we sat down and ordered our drinks, on Friday night, the waiter informed us that they were out of cheese.. The icing on the cake was when my husband ordered soup with his meal and was handed a 1 pack of saltines. I looked at the table and thought, there should be at least a basket on the table with bread sticks, or crackers to go with our soup and salad. It just looked empty, sad. We have decided it's time to move on. We will miss the original family owned Schererville Lounge, but it's not the same!

Never even ordered. I walked In With my son to get crab legs and no one ever seated us. We eventually just sat at a table as there were only 2 tables taken in the dining area. We sat there for some time while 2 waitresses walked past and looked right at us several times and never even acknowledged we were there. I could see if they were busy but there were only 2 tables. They never even said hang on, just looked at us several times and ignored us. We eventually just got up and walked out.

Absolutely amazing food and the staff is so friendly. Filet and shrimp dinner out of this world.

Service and food was great. Every thing nice until you tell me I'd be charged 3% for a debit and or credit card. Bad business practice.

We were totally shocked when we entered the SL for dinner last night (7/21/24). The wonderful ambience that contributed to our customer loyalty for many years has been destroyed. This was a comforting refuge tor us. The atmosphere felt like a welcoming hug as you entered the place. The beautiful one of a kind surroundings have been replaced with the latest (not greatest) “minimalist “ decor. It’s now a cold, generic, IKEA inspired. So sorry to say won’t be back. Kudos to the wonderful chef as well as the dedicated serving staff (Terry, Rachel, Angela). We will miss you. Our unsolicited advice to management: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

Saw them on Facebook. Hadn't been there in years. Stopped inside and was asked if we had reservations. Didn't see that mentioned on site, but they felt patrons should make reservations on fridays. We were seated. Place was less than a quarter filled and wasn't overwelmed. Tried the perch and some bluegill (not AYCE style). Service was great, but food was nothing to rave over.
Maybe it was an off day?
