Enjoyed a late lunch on the patio. Grilled pimento cheese sandwich was excellent! My husband said his egg salad with bacon sandwich was delicious, too. I want to come back to try the cakes! Disappointed that breakfast wasn’t offered after 1:00. I was in the mood for flapjacks. Oh well, just means I get to go again!

Since we were travelling, I had to come up quick with something for my wife's birthday. This place came to the rescue. I like the idea that one can walk into a place and get a cake without ordering days ahead. The cake was very good ! I will be back for more when in the area.

Trish at Southern Sweets Bakery went out of her way to make my Dad’s 79th birthday extra special! Since this past year in quarantine we have been unable to visit my parents in the Atlanta/Decatur area, we live out of town. As a last minute idea, we wanted to send my dad a Key Lime Pie (his favorite) to celebrate his birthday. We tried to do a delivery through Grub Hub but for some reason we were unable. So we called the bakery and got to talk to Trish! How sweet and kind she was! She went out of her way to make and deliver this pie so my Dad could have an amazingly delicious treat to help him celebrate his birthday. She was kind and understanding and she must bake positivity and love right into all her treats! We can’t wait to visit in person on our next trip to Atlanta. And bonus, there are lots of vegan treats available and half my family is vegan. Yay! Thank you so so much for your kindness and caring.

I personally had a Oreo cheesecake it was delicious there where so many options I also got a chocolate red velvet cake but it wasn’t as good still a very good cake!

This was the slowest place I have ever been! They kept telling us they were preparing our food but when it arrived my sandwich was barely warm. The soup was hot and very good. I also ordered tiramisu which was best described as just okay. I will not go back.

So I've been going to this place for years and the food has always been 5 star quality. However, lately there has been a serious decline in the quality of food and service. I hope this is just a hiccup that can be reversed. I will wait a few months before I return as a customer and hopefully the quality will be back to standards.

Great place for lunch. We took ours to go. Very friendly staff, nice variety of sandwiches. We tried four different ones (all great!). Deserts were wonderful. The brownies are so good and the cheesecakes. Kids loved it too!

I have been coming here for years but just now leaving a review for some reason. Their vegan strawberry cake is to die for. I've been told they only make it when strawberries are in season but I had a slice yesterday in the middle of winter. I'm not complaining though. All of their other vegan cakes are delicious too. I believe I have tried all the flavors at one point or another. I get all my birthday cakes from them...can't imagine having a birthday cake from anywhere else. When I get married, I hope they can make my wedding cake! So much love for SS!

Southern Sweets is known for its bakery and desert selections. In fact they provide pies, tarts and other items to some of Atlanta's high end restaurants. The great thing is that you can walk in and order salads, sandwiches, breakfast or just a "southern sweet". The people are very friendly. There is limited seating if you choose to dine in.

Lovely little spot with lots of colorful artwork and friendly staff. I got an Earl Grey tea and Boston Creme cake slice. I do not like most frosting but the chocolate one on this was rich and think and I loved it. I was impressed with the variety of cake flavors and will be back to try them.

I really enjoyed my trip here. The only reason it has four stars and not five is due to the inconsistency with the moisture of the cakes. To be clear, the options are the best I've had on this side of the metro region. The only place that compares (Alpine Bakery) is miles away. I have and will continue to recommend this great place to friends and colleagues. I'm EXTREMELY excited about the sweet potato praline cheesecake (I think I got a cavity simply from typing that name!). I love that there's not just one vegan cake or a vegan pie- there are plenty of both desserts! Also, the lunch menu didn't disappoint. I haven't had an issue with parking as I have come during slower hours but I could see it being a problem on a busy day. Also, pay attention to your navigation system when it tells you to turn. The sign for Rio Cir is easy to miss. I went here twice before and still managed to miss my turn on my third trip here.
