I haven't been to cow palace in a while. Previously the food was mediocre, but I recently went this weekend. The food was excellent, with excellent service. We even had some ice cream at the little shop up front. I am happy to say this is turning into one of my favorite hometown restaurants.

Compton Cow Palace is that piece of Americana that you really need in your life. The memories, the good old-fashioned service is straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. The food was excellent and the friendly staff was just overwhelmingly wonderful. If you’re ever in Shelbyville Indiana, make sure you stop by the Cow Palace.

Food was way over priced for the quality, service was fine, but food is worse quality than mcdonalds! It cost me 75.00 dollars for a family of four you can go to Texas roadhouse for that.

Hmm, it might be good. I dont know. I went in to order ice cream for my little girl and the employees ignored me. Made eye contact with two employees and they turned away. Also there are two cameras pointed at the register area...I was seen. It made me feel stupid. I think I'll save my time and dignity by going somewhere else, thank you.

Great service, so-so food. Went for lunch on a Sunday, and the place was very busy. There were no open tables, so we waited a couple of minutes. Several servers came by and explained we would be seated shortly and apologized for the wait. Soon, a table was open, and after wiping clean, we were seated. Waitress again apologized (and again, it was just a few minutes), then gave us menus. We got the fried shrimp poor boy plate and the fried clam strip plate. Both came with cole slaw, which was served first. I liked it as it was crisp, and without too much dressing. We soon got the rest of our orders, which is when things went downhill a bit. The shrimp for the poor boy was over fried and too dark to be appealing, but was eatable. The fried clam strips looked very good and were light and crunchy. However, they forgot the clams. I would occasionally get a bit of clam flavor, but it was mainly bits of precisely cook coating. The French fries might have been plated first, then covered, as they were warm but lifeless. Almost limp. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. When I declined a refill on my soda, she offered to prepare me one to go (also declined).

Took our party of 9 in Saturday for lunch. It was 1pm, the waiting staff was not happy we were there and took 15 minutes for us to be seated in a not full restaurant. The seats were brokendown and well worn. We ordered drinks and it took another 15 minutes to get them. We were ready to order when drinks came then the waitress said she was not serving our table. After another 10 minutes we left.
I cannot imagine this place staying in business much longer.

Cow palace is a nice resturaunt, me and my son went there for lunch, and we like to try new diners around where we live it was a while to be seated so we decided to have ice cream as our appetizer and then after we were seated we got our meal atleast 30 minutes after ordering it was a good experience.
