It doesn't appear that anyone is interested in making Jug Rock Nature Preserve a destination spot. You park on the side of the road next to a guardrail and a driveway. There is a small sign that says you are where you need to be. You then follow a pretty rough and overgrown (in the summer) trail down to Jug Rock. Unfortunately, people decided it would be a good spot to spray graffiti and etch words into the stone. It was cool to see and check it off my "Places I've...
It's a little hard to find. It's also hard to see in the summertime. There is no where to park unless you are on a motorcycle. It's down a short path. Worth seeing if you live in Indiana. The Portland Arch should also be on your list.
It's barely noticeable from the road and there doesn't appear to be (any) parking, but it's worth the quick stop to pull over and take the short 45-second hike down to see the "highest free standing rock formation east of the Mississippi." Was worth the detour.
