Location is in a little shady area but the staff were wonderful. Food was excellent and it was more of an eating experience.
Expensive in a sense, but it was authentic mesican food that tasted pretty good
Food is good, service is good but the music is way too loud. Music in the back and then in the front makes it very stressful instead of enjoyable.
Delicious at a value...
We showed up at closing time, they let us stay an hour after closing. Food was as authentic as it can be. Highly recommend this place. I will be back no doubt.
Fajitas suck chicken no bueno. Sauce to darn hot. At least let me know. Service sucks. Had to go find her. Not a go experience at all.
Beautiful authentic restaurant

Very bad food and terrible service, they won't even help if you need anything else, the music is too loud as if you were at a party and not in a restaurant, I will never come to this disco restaurant again.

The service and food did not meet expectations. The margarita contained little to no alcohol. The salsa was warm and satisfactory, but that was the only positive aspect. There was disappointment with the experience. It was necessary to actively search for the waitress, who was not present for an hour.

Pleasantly surprised is how I describe this wonderful dining experience. Established 4 years ago, El Tecate serves up large portions of seafood, libations, and atmosphere. When you walk in you will hear very loud music and smiling faces. You'll need to walk to the counter and then pick your seat and the waitress will follow you with menus. The menu is extremely extensive so pick a drink and spend 10 minutes browsing. I chose the strawberry margarita and it was delicious. After thoroughly going over the menu, I picked the Molcajete Mar y Tierra. This volcano of meat and veggies not only filled my stomach but was visually appealing. We also ordered the Mojarra con camarones a la Diabla. This is a whole Tilapia deep fried and covered in a slightly spicy sauce and shrimp. It was delicious. The food, the atmosphere, the service, and the drinks were all top notch. Do yourself a favor and eat here immediately.

The food was tasty. I tried the taco al pastor and taco barbacoa de rex with cilantro and onions in a corn tortilla. Very similar to the traditional street tacos in Mexico.
