We stopped in looking for pupusas. The good....the pupusas and curtido are ok. Not great but edible. The curtido had a little too much oregano and the pupusas were a little dense. My daughter had steak fajitas, and I had the fish veracruz style. The bad.... My daughters steak was tough, dry , and flavorless My fish tasted muddy. It was not good. Portions were huge. Service was friendly...if you want to have a drink through your meal...order 2 because you arent getting a refill. The search for pupusas continues now that El Girasol is out of business.....

Had steak, cheese, and bean papusa for the first time yesterday. Very delicious with the cabbage and chipotle sauce that comes with it. Chips/salsa was great as well! The service is great, but the drinks are overpriced and the restaurant is very cold. Bring a sweater. Would come back again.

Yes, being served after ordering takes a long time. Yes, the place is run down and not plush. Yes, finding the restaurant open can be a challenge. However, if you want authentic food choices from southern Mexico then this is the place. Only one family member (girl) speaks English so Spanish is beneficial if you dine here. Reminds me of my travels in Central Mexico years ago. Very filling fare.
