Kankakee Grille South Bend

Usually service and food have been very good at Kankakee Grill, but the last visit was disappointing. They did not have Grey Goose Vodka, the server got the order confused...pear vodka martini which was on their drink list was not available. After the order we waited about 15 minutes before she came back to tell us they did not have peach vodka. She then left and came back about 10 minutes later saying there was no Grey Goose vodka at all. She seemed very confused and unsure of herself. I asked for another waitress because everything was taking so long and when the first waitress was with us, she got things confused. The second waitress was very nice, but we waited a long time for our order...a ribeye with salad and chicken sandwich. The chicken in the sandwich was overdone...where dry. Even after we received our drinks and placed our order, people at the table next to us who arrived after we had placed our order, received their order before we did. They also had followed up on the long wait. They were short staffed and had not received their alcohol order. Waitress explained they only had one bartender and were short staffed in kitchen. They were not super busy, but definitely had staffing issues. Second waitress was very nice but they offered no discount for all the problems experienced. Will not be back for a long time

Always a great meal.. their soups, pizza, salads are beyond ordinary. Also top shelf margaritas with a sugar rim is awesome!!!

We went there for our anniversary and the food was amazing. They treated us to dessert which was delicious. Thank you

We aren't gamblers but... needed a place to eat and chat. Kankakee Grille was fantastic for meeting up and hanging out with friends. Fabulous food, wide selection of options, very friendly and efficient staff (Thank you Tanya!) and relatively low prices for what we go. Will go back again!

We had the Thursday special which was lobster tail and a filet mignon. It was great as was our server John

This place does not accommodate groups. No matter how big the group size is, they refuse to itemize checks. They will only do two checks per table. They also never ask how the steaks were cooked and two people in our party ordered filet. The steaks came out medium rare when they were ordered medium well. Anyone ordering a good steak should be asked if it is cooked properly. The service is good and the food is always above average but very expensive. For a restaurant and a casino, they should do a better job of accommodating people that spend a lot of money at the casino.

My husband and I have eaten there several times and have thoroughly enjoyed the meal each time

The ribs were dry and tuff my wife and i have never had tuffer rib to eat here. Most of time the ribs are wonderful. But for father's day I was looking forward to the ribs I always get them here but that nday I was very disappointed and it made me second guess ever coming back to eat there

This restaurant was our go too place but it's going down hill in quality last few times very disappointed. Ordered one night pretzel bite appetizer and it literally came to our table charred it was burnt bad . Sent it back and waitresses took it back agreed it was pretty burnt and we had to wait awhile for remake. Even worse no one came to check on us the manager was seen present in the restaurant but not checking on customers. Next visit I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich well where's the chicken for 16.00 it's sad the chicken breast is only a 1/4 inch thick how cheap . This time we came in this Saturday and my wife ordered a salad add chicken for extra 8.00 it looked like a side salad total 20.00 and the chicken was heavily salted it was awful told waiter who told kitchen but nobody came to talk to us so I remedied this problem ourselves we will go elsewhere to eat before going to the Casino

Great food as always. Never disappointed. Had reservations at 5:45pm, showed up at 5:35 and told to leave until closer to reservation time. Kind of weird.

Food and server were very good. No silverware when food came but we were the first ones on the patio and they may not have been ready. No big deal. Had filet. Was good. Brussel sprouts were very good. Husband ordered plain fries instead of parmasean fries and got the parm fries. Again no big deal. Server offered to replace them but we said no. Wish they would have the lobster special daily. Would tecommend and also make reservations.

I have never been disappointed eating at the Kankakee Grille in South Bend. The ribeye steak is always cooked to perfection. I love it.

We celebrated our anniversary by eating outside and had a great meal and excellent service. I can't remember the name of our server, but she did a great job and we were the only ones outside so should be easy to figure out.

Spent $270 for pretty good meal but bluegill dinner for 1 guest was really dry and not good at all. Should have been refunded. Charged to room.

The Kankakee grille at both South Bend and New Buffalo is a great restaurant, food is wonderfully drinks are great and the value is spectacular. Whenever we are at the Four Winds we dine here.
