NOKU Bistro And Sushi Bar

My family went last night to celebrate birthdays, I would've rated it at maybe a 5 out of 10. I had higher expectations and really wanted to love our experience. The atmosphere was very laid back and the staff we encountered were friendly. Our server was obviously new and slow (we all start somewhere), he was really nice. The women's restroom smelled very musty, kind of dark and only 1 sink worked. The forks and appetizer plates that were brought to the table were cold and wet. I bring this up because if they had been washed in hot water, there wouldn't have been water on the dishes (the dishes would've been warm and most or all water evaporated) and that makes me feel that they were not properly sanitized (hot water kills germs). They make everyone get the all-you-can-eat sushi, even if only 1 person wants it. This was not made clear at the time of reservation or on arrival. It's a good thing our party of 9 was okay with those restrictions. We were not told about any appetizers or additional food items that were included in the all-you-can-eat until we were almost done eating. They have a quick viewing paper for what's included in the all-you-can-eat, but there's no description of what's in it like the regular menu, so you have to go back and forth to see (which is really inconvenient for both customer and server due to the length of time). This was more than half of our party's first time there and I felt extremely uninformed on the rules and what to expect. It's not on their website or menu. The menu should be updated indicating in its own section of the all-you-can-eat selections or at least noting with an asterisk or another special mark of what is NOT included or IS included. The new servers should be better equipped with important information and restrictions before assigning them to larger groups. Unfortunately, unless there are some changes, we won't be back.

We waited for our take out 40 min past pickup time. The food was pretty good. Then we found a bunch of green mold on our sauce containers... after we ate... hopefully we don't get sick...

I went there last night for a Hibachi steak, and Hibachi Chicken. both were horrible. the steak and chicken were over cooked, no flavor, just plain and bad. the rice had no flavor, the vegetables were also just as bad. I would recommend Woochi restaurant in downtown South Bend 100% better. never had bad food there.

Absolutely delicious. All you can eat sushi that is made to order. Had a great time. The staff was amazing. I am looking forward to my next visit. ?

It’s good food but it’s like they try and make you share when you do the buffet option I went with my daughter and we both had the buffet and we both had the crispy salmon rolls, I literally waited 15-20 minutes for them to bring mines (hers was already there) she told me to share with her then when done she will bring the other, uummm no excuse me that’s her food for her $27 dollars and you need to get my food for my $27 dollars…Then your paying $27 dollars at dinner buffet and if you want to take your food home (mind you they will not give you anymore food until you eat everything on your plate, or at least eat to their liking.) they charge you anywhere from $3-$5 dollars (depending on which server you have.) why am I paying to take home food I already paid $27 dollars for?? But then if you say never mind and don’t take it home, they force you to take it home because they don’t want to waste it… I been there 3 times already and this has happened every time.. ATP it’s becoming a hassle just to eat there.

Worst sushi I have ever had. And I have eaten it all over the world

Pineapple fried rice with chicken. Added some spicy ?️ and basil. It is very good and spicy. Just a little dry . It needs more sauce. Maybe like some pineapple sauce??? To make it more flavorful

I was unsure of what to expect based on the reviews, but the food was excellent, the service superb and the staff friendly and eager to please. I had several vegetable rolls and it was all delicious. Their ginger salad might be the best in town. I can't wait to return!
