Since 1985, our family has been visiting Rocco’s every time we make a pilgrimage to ND or Saint Mary’s. All of our ND/SMC classmates and friends do the same. We love the food, the decor, the ambiance, and being remembered and treated like one of the family. It is a priceless part of our basket of ND/SMC traditions, as irreplaceable as attending the pre-football game concerts on the steps of Bond Hall. The pizza is great as are all the traditional dishes, (try their “Julia” bottomless family-sized salad), and even on a game night they will prepare your pasta to individual preference. Another nostalgic (and just plain cool) aspect of Rocco’s are the 40- or 32-ounce twist-off-top beers like we used to share in college - Rocco’s still stocks a selection of these and also great table wines by the glass and upscale wines by the bottle. Rocco’s is worth the wait. Try it once and don’t be surprised when celebrating at Rocco’s becomes one of YOUR family traditions!

Updated review - still the best pizza in South Bend. Absolute classic family place. Should be at the top of your list. Go early or be prepared to wait a while, but don't worry they'll serve you beers outside.

My partner and I enjoy trying local pizzerias around town and Rocco’s is the best pizza we’ve had in South Bend! The pizza was flavorful and had the perfect crisp, as we prefer our pizza to be crispy.
The service was excellent from the moment we entered the place. As soon as we walked inside, we were greeted by the host, he took our name down, and gave us a 15-20 minute wait during their busy hour. A kind lady seated us and we had an amazing waitress. She was kind, immediately took our drink orders, and placed our food order within a timely manner. Our pizza did take a while because something occurred during the process, so they were going to remake it and the waitress gave us some delicious cheese bread and marinara sauce “on them” to make up for that. The wait was totally worth it, the prices are reasonable, the experience overall is amazing.
It is not common to get good customer service and quality food nowadays, so coming here and experiencing their customer service was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had.
We will definitely continue to support Rocco’s and enjoy their delicious pizza!

Best pizza in The Bend. Get it “thin and crispy” and you’re set. There are crowds for a reason! We usually order take out, but, when time allows, we love to have a seat and enjoy the family atmosphere.

Legendary family-run Italian restaurant that’s a must visit in South Bend. My favorite pizza in the Midwest and my favorite lasagna w/ meat sauce anywhere. Place can get very crowded on Notre Dame football weekends.
