Food, service and ambiance are amazing. This place is a throwback and a real gem! The fried chicken is the best I have ever had and don't sleep on the American potatoes.

This place is a flavor of explosion of good food and our waitress was funny and nice and very good at taking care of her people. I wish i could remember her name. Waitresses like this is becoming rare these days...Every one was polite and nice from the time we walked in the door to the time we walked out..We will definitely remember this restaurant..Thank you for the wonderful experience...

Oh my god the food is wonderful! We had a party of 6 and got there right before the rush. Wonderful service, Stephanie went above and beyond for us. We enjoyed our meal so much! No one walked away disappointed. Desert was amazing, food was amazing. Pictured here we have veal parm and scampi, although everything we tried was amazing.

First time customer. Very friendly, efficient waitress - who was also doing bartending duty. Food was very tasty, good portions and served at perfect temperature. Enjoyed my mostaccioli . Next time I'd like to try the pork chops!

Visited this South Bend institution purely by chance while exploring with my favorite 80 year old and couldn't be happier. From the minute we arrived where they jumped in to help us navigate the steps with a walker, we knew we'd made a good choice. The place was abuzz with local folks enjoying this great red sauce Italian restaurant that specializes in fried chicken, fries and serves delicious meatballs with potatoes. Not what I'm used to coming from the East Coast, but we were not disappointed. Ravioli with their homemade tomato sauce was rich and delicious and the spaghetti with olive and oil delivered a great garlic punch. To top it off, they had homemade German chocolate cake or carrot cake for dessert! Epic!

We went with a group of friends, some of which attended Notre Dame, so they recommended the restaurant and it was a great experience. Very pleasant atmosphere with excellent food!

The food is excellent as is the experienced wait staff. We have been coming here for many years and it never disappoints. This was even an ND home game weekend. Nice cozy atmosphere, old school Italian.

What a gem—I hope this place never closes. The bread is excellent, the salad is excellent (get the garlic dressing), the entrees are excellent (shrimp scampi and the meatballs are to die for), and dessert is excellent (tiramisu is out of this world). Service is stellar, and the atmosphere is what’d you expect for an almost 100-year-old Italian restaurant. Go here now!!!

Good ambiance, nice staff, but horribly overpriced for them portions . The antipasto was $22 for 2 people and it was basically a pile of wilted lettuce and greens with a few peppers and four pieces of small sliced meat placed on it and the veal Parmesan in the shrimp scampi were both $28 apiece and they were $10 items at most. He bought a bottle of Darkhorse one for $28 which can be purchased it any local store for eight dollars a bottle. Just terribly over priced overall which ruined the experience.
