We stopped at Taphouse on the Edge before a Notre Dame hockey game with our two kids. The food was actually good — my burger was tasty — though the portion of fries was pretty small. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. It took quite a while before our server even acknowledged us, and we had to flag him down for silverware (i eventually went to the host for silverware) and drink refills. He seemed more focused on the football game on the TVs than the tables.
When it was time to leave, our server was nowhere to be found. After a manager came over to check in, he eventually returned smelling strongly of cigarettes and apologized for being busy. Paying on the handheld device while he stood over us was also uncomfortable.
This might be an okay place to grab a beer and watch a game, but I wouldn’t choose it again for a family dinner before a Notre Dame event.

Their food and service have been top notch when we make the drive to South Bend. The atmosphere.. its what one would expect. Order the muchroom fries, you wont be disappointed.

My wife and I went for lunch and had an excellent experience. We were seated immediately, our waitress was very friendly and helpful in making our selections. The food was perfect. Highly recommend Taphouse On The Edge.

My husband and I ordered the Portobello mushroom burger. But to our surprise the sandwiches didn't have burgers on them. I was told that it was a vegetarian. But the menu section was Smash Burger. So we assumed that they were burgers. They need to be specific on the menu and place that item under a vegetarian section. Otherwise everything was good.

Taphouse is my go to for an easy dinner and a drink when my other half is traveling. The wait stuff is always on point and easy to talk to. The specials are great, especially for just one person. The Smurf is not to be passed up on if you can drink down a 32oz AMF! The chicken salad is one of my favorite things as well as the soft pretzel.

We stopped in here on game day and were pleasantly surprised how good the food was! We had the nachos, the slider burgers, onion rings and a cup of vegetable soup. The nachos were amazing, we would go back just for those! The burgers were great but the onion rings were a little overdone. Most of all I never expected the soup to be so flavorful and interesting with choice of vegetables…cabbage, celery, carrots, yellow squash, cauliflower and broccoli! The broth was rich and tasted like it had simmering for hours! Such a nice surprise. We sat in a both in the bar and the environment was classic sports bar. The service was great. I missed his name but he took great care of us.
